I don't know if there going to fix it or not but the gold yield and cost is way to much of a difference. to respect skills is insane when your max level and don't even get me started on horses. does anyone know if they intend on fixing or evening out.

I respect all my skills and its free. But to re-spec my skills its not very expensive just around 15 k. Seeing as u can make that much gold easily by questing, selling loot, and pvping I dont think its that much. Horses are quite expensive but that just gives u something to work for.

Gold would be virtually worthless if they lowered the price of the current gold sinks. As it is i think most things are slightly under priced.

Once you have motifs and horse...there's nothing to spend gold on if you play the game the way its supposed to be played. Now, if u chug potions like water and stay in cyrodil all day long or don't loot any nodes or craft for yourself.

Have to agree to disagree with your examples @orangeberry4, BUT I must say that acquiring more bank space is now quite the feat! I'm at the 45k upgrade, and I believe it goes up to 75k per upgrade. Now that is a tad overpriced IMO :)

There isn't really much worth buying, and since the repair and respec cost have been reduced significantly, earning gold shouldn't be that big of a problem at higher levels

It climbs more slower than that. Your next upgrade will be 50,000. Still a chunk of change but is not doubling every step

    http://tamrieljournal.com/eso-bag-space-guide/

It's 768,000 total to full upgrade to 240 slots.

If you buy armor and weapons from vendors, it is too expensive. That's why you can craft, or buy from crafters. We sell for the less than the game vendors do.

You really only spend gold on Bag Space, Horses and Repairs. You will make enough gold in this game by doing quests or if needed, hitting a public dungeon or grind spot. I just made 5,000 in about 60 minutes at one grind spot today. Even with the 2,000 I spent on repairs for doing so.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Everything from the game is ridiculous per level. ie.. Youre level 5 new and want to buy armor from a merchant. It's sad. Other wise its really cheap if I started a new character. I could buy all I want. It seems to be wgat they balanced for, Uts another fail of the game. I could afford 10x that if I wanted to buy from a merchant. Yet Im making my own gear way cheaper, which every replay should. The first time around. the gear prices are ridiculous the game company wants time invested for buying their game. You're their new hook so everything is harder on you. So you spend more time investing, uh paying them money, its really sad. F sad. Disgracefully. They have no shame in anything.

I meant that I thought the final upgrade cost went up to 75k. thanks for the link, I was incorrect, the last upgrade cost is 85k eeek! 768k total is quite the chunk of change.

Its frustrating sometimes, but I think the developers are trying to avoid massive economic inflation. Sad part of a lot of MMO games is that its very very VERY easy for the in game currency to become worthless.

In this game, it really does feel like every single number counts when it comes to money.

It's not hard to make gold. If say, you are going to set aside some game time aside for making gold rather than questing or PvP'ing then you can make a fair amount.

Been here since Feb 2014 - You'd think I'd be half reasonable at this game by now...

It's tough when you first start. The learning curve is expensive. Some tips-

    1. Keep questing
    2. rarely if ever purchase anything from NPC vendors.
    3. make your own gear. It's better and free to make.
    4. join a trade guild and sell harvested mats and glyphs. (Optional) just extra cash.
    5. PvP hard when you can. The cash bonus at the end of a campaign is pretty good. I was able to purchase a high end horse just pvp-ing in one campaign.

You actually get quite alot of money from questing. If your not spending on vendor items it accumulates quickly. The game will nickle and dime you to death if you let it though....good luck. We all know your frustration but it's not as bad as you think. You just have some adjustments to make.

Other than bag/bank upgrades there's almost nothing to spend gold on
1g for a 'does the job' horse... (IE)
    42k for a faster one

Respec, that has been decreased, and with the morphs only changed to the point that it's not that bad!

Yeah, the crafted gear is usually better, especially when you add set bonuses. The only Time I have bought gear from vendors, is from the guild vendors, and it was jewellery, I was chasing the Superior gear achievement. I still am chasing the Epic gear achievement, but I'm not in any hurry.

Yeah, I finally said, "screw it" and spent about 3k to get a purple VR5 necklace and ring to get the Epic Gear Achievement.

EDIT: Funny thing, the Ring of Mara actually doesn't count for those, It needs to actually be a blue or a purple for the relevant achievement.

Here are some of my tips:

    1. Do Not buy any armor from level 1-50, let alone at all.
Instead decide which armor type you are going to use in the game. Use the drops you receive from enemies and use Glyphs to put the enchant you want on it if it doesn't already have it.
Sell the other two armor types when you get them, then Deconstruct and Research your primary armor.

    2. Harvest nodes as much as you can. Spend the actual time doing it!
Refine the materials when back in town then make the items from each that you can sell to vendors for the most cash back at the least material cost. Wood = Bows, Ore = Swords, Plant/Hides = Helms

    3. Empty bags prior to doing dungeons.
When going into solo dungeons, ensure you have next to nothing in your bag other than the essentials. Repair kits, potion, food, soul gems. This way you can maximize the amount of items you collect to sell when you are in there. Stay and kill as many enemies as you can until you fill your bag! If you have to, make an Alt to use as a Mule to hold your important things to use later before doing dungeons.

    4. Once you reach Vet Ranks, start making your own armor.
Go on the Web and research the different Crafting Set Bonuses and decide on which two you need. Choose your Primary set (5 items) and then your Secondary set (3 items) based on what your character needs a boost in to help your survivability.

    5. Buying Stamina on a horse is not as important as Speed and Capacity!

    Hope this helps a bit.
Far too many characters to list any more.

Great tips for new players man. but....

With a pure stamina horse you can actually run faster than a maxed out speed horse by just spamming shift (not holding it) It gives you a speed boost each time you double tap.

But anyway I did manage to find someone who maxed out all thir craft and its way easier to get gear and it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be.

I don't think things are too expensive, I think its too hard to make gold.

Personally to me it seems like you don't start making any real gold unless at least one of your chars is high or veteran level. Trying to make and sell stuff with most of your toons under lv 20 seems not to work, at least for me.

When this game first launched, it was easy to get a couple thousand a day from casually selling stuff, now its rare that I get a couple hundred.
Edited by Deheart on November 4, 2014 2:12AM
As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.
