spoqster✭✭✭✭✭Wow, sounds terrible. All the things you want to exclude are the things that make the game fun and give it extra dimensions. Without the ability to optimize your gear and skills the game would just a be an epic superbly boring grind.
Dying because you are trying to figure out how to beat a superior opponent is grand fun. But I guess I am more of a puzzle solver than a grinder. I am in it for the intellectual stimulation rather than the mouse clicking.0 -

But if you were VR13 and a few hundred points away from finishing the challenge, would you actually restart if your character died?
If I was doing this challenge, I would be in two minds about it. Mind you if I was doing this challenge I wouldn't make it level 12 (I did reach level twelve on one character before I died for the first time)People believe what they either want to be true or what they are afraid is true!

Dave2836✭✭✭This was the IRON MAN CHALLENGE I used to play on Diablo II:
Not Allowed:
1-No repairing equipment
2-No selling equipment
3-No Cube Crafting (Gems, runes, potions, etc)
4-No buying equipment or pots
5-No hireling mercenary
6-No twinking (using gear drops from others or high level alts)
Allowed:
1-Picking up equipment
2-All pots and expendables must be looted from the mobs
3-Grouping only with other IRON MAN participants
4-Waypoints allowed
5-Dying is ok
6-Summoning is ok (Valkyrie, Decoy, Skeleton, golem, etc)
7-Cube Crafting allowed only for quest requirements (Horadric staff or Khalim flail)
The system forced us to learn the game with skills and enhanced our knowledge of the runewords. It's interesting to look back on it because finding six socketed armor was like finding a Windforce or Buriza. Made me appreciate the often overlooked socketable items in regular play.0
