As the title states, I was hoping to get some feedback from you guys on how a light armor, magicka-based Templar might gain some survivability in PvP...besides Blazing Shield XD.

Go all health, but loose magica, which we don't have enough of already.
Go all magica and become a glass bb gun that gets one shotted by everything.
    What's stamina?

I haven't found a good all around build yet.

blinding flashes is awesome - unless the main source of incoming dmg is from range - than your screwed due to a lack of sth as or even 1/10th as effective as reflective scales.
spelling and grammar errors are free to be abused

1-hand and shield, resto staff on the other bar, legendary armour glyphs on your jewelry, stack harness magicka (light armour shield), immovable (heavy armour shield), blazing shield. For healing - breath of life, purify.

Tri pots are always a good idea in PvP anyway and make at least one of your set bonuses for mana management, coupled with resto staff heavy attacks when you can.

I find that stats are hard to balance as a Templar. You can't afford to stack health. Need extra stamina badly since no escapes tools like BE or cloak. But you also need max magicka to make up for crappy management.

So you have to pick one:
Ditch health = free kill for sneaky NB's
Drop your stamina = DK and zerg food
Ditch magicka = be a vegetable?

Radiant Aura is nice. That with some extra stamina and you can pop Immovable when needed, dodge endless Talon spam and block more. Does a lot for my survivability. Repentance might be better in big zerg collisions, but for small group or solo there's just not enough corpses around (or fellow temps throwing spears).

Sword and board + Resto, might be fotm cookie cutter blah blah, but it's still the best option if you want to stay alive.

Purifying Ritual is so amazing. It's cheap, takes 5 debuffs and heals. But in raids people will moan about it and start lecturing you about Efficient Purge. Slotting a class skill to improve your own survivability apparently means you signed up to be everyone's bored to death purge squire

Use Blazing Shield, Harness Magicka and BoL to ofc. Eat loads of tripods and purple food.

49 attribute points in Health is a must for PvP in my opinion.

I've had more survivability as 2H medium armor Templar, basically only using magic to keep blazing shield up.

Yep, over 3k health is a good thing in Cyrodiil. Higher HP also makes Blazing Shield better since it is scaled off max health.

Structured Entropy (mages guild) will give you a passive increase in health, although the DoT is pitiful it's perhaps not worth slotting.

Eclipse can prevent some incoming hurt, puncturing sweep returns some health.

Other than that I don't think surviving is the initial problem; it's more doing enough damage in return to not make it a battle of will/resource management.

(Personally I struggle to find enough burst to kill while also defending against some classes / higher level vets; at least until Soul Assault is ready even then some just giggle at it)

I'm use twin-syster / warlock / 1hs + resto staff hybrid set with high magic + stamina regen. And it is work well as support + tank role on battle field.
Also put 49 score to health.

Magicka Templar builds have amazing survival. Blazing Shield, Honor the Dead, resto staff heals, Eclipse(not as OP as reflective scales but still works well) are all great ways to survive.

    Max your health, run immovable.

is this on your alliance buff server?
    if not, screen shot please

edit: OP - use Sword and Shield on at least one bar (Absorb Magic or Defensive Posture skills also help),
    - stack damage shields with Blazing shield,
    - have self-heal on at least one bar,
    - have stamina over 1700 (I run a much more believable 3k health, 2300 mag, 1900 stam)
    - use your surroundings, los'ing your opponent(s) can really save you when stuck in a tough situation
    - ofc another great defense is killing things before they kill you... it is a little tricky to create an effective burst damage templar w/o being a full stam build however, but it can be done
