So with the new PS4 update out, there comes a new feature called Share Play. Share Play allows you to join someone playing a game even if you don't own that particular game, so essentially you're playing it for free. Will ESO be using this feature? Will there be restrictions if it is?

I can't see them allowing that one, they are only just considering trial play. I could be wrong, but I really can't see them going for it.

And even if they did allow it, you can guaranteed they wouldn't allow you to save the character and continue progress, which in a story based MMO means it's pointless.

Co-op requires all players to have PS+ in order to play. Furthermore, all Share Play sessions, co-op or otherwise, are capped at a length of one hour. Once you hit the limit though, you're free to start another session with the same members immediately, as many times as you like. This is, of course, to prevent people from setting up a Share Play session for a friend, and walking away to let them play the game in its entirety without purchasing it.

Sony isn't going to do anything that loses them money. The idea is to get your friends interested in a game by allowing them to try it for free so they will purchase it.

Since only one person can play ESO at a time on a device, this feature would be pointless. Your friend would have to start up an ESO session, then turn the controls over to you for an hour, and you would be the only one who would be playing. Even after you got through playing, none of the advancements or gains that you made would ever be credited to your game account if you decided to purchase ESO.
