What kind of change to vampire appearance do you want?

So when asked if vampires will ever have the ability to hide their vampiric appearance, Sage's answer is, "I don't know that we're ever going to offer that except through maybe disguises or costumes. But maybe disguises or costumes are the way to go. Part of the reason that is so people can tell who vampires are on the battlefield and, you know, so the populace can tell who the vampire is. So..." and he trails off and ends there.

This will be the second of 2 related polls. This first poll deals with how changes to vampire appearance may be implemented. There will be no "I like it as it is" answer because this poll is designed to help pinpoint WHAT appearance change options are the most popular among those who DO want such a change. Assume that NONE of these proposed changes will work in Cyrodil.

The poll question is (as in the title): What kind of change to vampire appearance do you want?

I have to admit I think it would be extremely cool to have a slottable item for all of these. I would most especially love to see my vampire with her Stage 1 pale skin and her original lovely green eyes again. SIGH...

Why this is so important? No, I don't mean that devs have more important thing to do. I mean, you even don't see your face at 80% of all play time. I see my toon's face only on craft station. And no, I'm not a vampire.

I see my vamps horrific face countless times each day. Character select, inventory, mail, etc. That *** is always looking at me with her dead eyes.

It's "important" in that it impacts my satisfaction with my character. I worked very hard to make her the way I wanted her in character creation. Now, MOST of the time, she looks NOTHING like the character I took hours to carefully craft. I feel as if all my effort has been undone. And no, the "answer" is not to cure her and not be a vampire. The answer is for ZoS to be responsive and take player wants into consideration, particularly in an area that has NO adverse affect on gameplay mechanics. If I was asking for super strength and instant healing that would be something else and certainly would not be something I'd expect the devs to seriously consider. But this is a simple cosmetics issue and one that it would be EASY for them to make everyone happy with, including those who like how the current system works just fine or even actually WANT to keep the "monstrous" look.

I wouldn't want to entirely hide my characters' vampirism. I just wish it was less tedious to stay at Stage 1. Seeing their original eye colors at Stage 1 would certainly be nice, but even just an easier way to stay there with the current looks would be fine. None of my characters have tattoos/makeup but it does seem odd that those change.

I'm also perfectly fine with trading the gameplay benefits of staying at a higher stage to stay at Stage 1. Longer stages and/or blood potions would probably be a simple solution. The option of a passive skill from the other thread would be pretty good to, and might even work to provide multiple options for people that prefer different stages.

I don't hate it. It's a part of who she is.

She made that sacrifice for a reason. It gives her the strength to save her people. But each time she sees her reflection she is reminded of the monster she's become, the cost of power. She wonders if once her foes are defeated will she be able to give it all up? How long until she stops being a vampire just to protect her home, and starts being one because she likes the way it feels? These questions tear at her mind and her heart. She can't even sleep. She hopes that if she could just hide it, even for a short time, maybe she could forget, maybe she could find a moment of peace.

    where's "none of the above"?

In the justice system you cannot hide your vampirism at stage 4 and NPCs will react to you (if we are to believe the latest twitch session).

It is a small thing to keep your vampire stages low in solo pve but what about raids or in pvp? Or what happens if guards kill you inside a town and you then respawn inside the town again?

I hope these costumes they were thinking about will help you in such a situation.

Should be able to keep the mortal apparence in someone , this would also prevent people from now just hunting you on the justice system , which is ridiculous since it makes all vampires PvP targets.

dark elf red eyes look much more vampiric then the curent vamp eyes in game... atm imo stage 3 and 4 makes you look like a zombie and not a vamp... at stages 3 and 4 i want red eyes glowing, like a led or something

They (ZoS) probably are not going to realize this at first and release it with the current Stage system as is and then actually have the nerve to be surprised when the forums are flooded with furious vampire players. THEN they will be forced to actually alter the Stage system to something somewhat reasonable... and we will get the joy of getting to endure the broken-ness of it all for however long it takes them to figure it out. Fun times.

Yes and if I wanted to play a zombie there are definitely other games where I can explore THAT. No thanks.

Sadly the options you posted are too limited for my tastes and there should be a "other" option to suggest an alternative.

I refer you to my answer from your other thread on the subject matter as it is also a perfectly lore viable solution click here

I agree that this would best be done via the Illusion school of magic coming with Spellcrafting. If they told me that's where/how it would happen I'd be perfectly content to wait for it.

Out of curiosity, what DO you want your vampire to look like? You know, in a perfect world.

This is all about you. We get that. However, it seems to me that ZOS is listening just not to you. Please get over it. It is not their fault you are not satisfied with your character. It was your choice. They didn't force you to be a vampire. And if all it has to do is with roleplay, cure it, and then just rp you are a vampire. -

I hate to ruin your awesome diagnosis of my mental illness but this isn't actually all about me. It is about a very large group of players, most of whom will actually NOT set foot in these forums because of people like you and the garbage treatment you give them. Many of them ARE roleplayers but there is also a significant portion of them who are not but simply really loved the vampires in Skyrim/Dawnguard and are vastly disappointed in what we got here. So because I refuse to be shouted down by egoists like yourself it's "all about me?" Nope, not quite. And here's the thing... even if I WERE perfectly happy with the way vampires look in this game I would understand and support a wider range of options BECAUSE of the way vampires are in the previous ES games. But hey thanks, people like you just keep making my point for me.

Hm, some of my Characters are Vampires and some of them look like some of the Answers here, really bad.

I have the Choice now to reset this Status or take it how it is. Sure, everyone can tell a Story about Lore and wannabe Logical Line of Sights ( :s ), like that:.......

1: My Vampire isnt dumb, he could use Cosmetics and Parfueme etc :# .

2: In the real World my Vampire never ever let him catch by someone Mortal, because he is a God of Darkness and destroy all and everything etc :D .

3: I only choose my Vampire for the Lore/RPG, the Advantages are not important for me o:). But it is not realistic that he cant do this and suffer that, so i demand for all other Vampires, for the Lore and for Justice,(notformeandtheadvantages) that Zenimax do the right Thing, because it is the right thing etc .....

At the End, you want all without paying for it. Maybe a little bit but only if this Penalty looking good for you ;) .

So here is the only fair and right Answer, the only one that a Vampire can hope for B) .

    1. STOP, UNDEAD SCUM, YOU CANT ENTER THIS TOWN.....DIE!! :p .

    2. KISS MY BOOTS, ME THE ENFORCER SEND YOU TOO HELL, PIECE OF ROTTEN FLESH!!! B).

    3. FOR THE LORE OF TAMRIEL, BUUURN UNDEAD PLAGUE, BUUURN:* yells the Mob in Town! >:) .

P.S: None of the seven Options are really ok, so take this Undead Life as it is.
