Will we still have Veteran Dungeons, or will they be renamed Champion Dungeons?

Aha, but I'm still here, working on veteran dungeons! So how's that for a conundrum?

Yes, except in the new Champion dungeons, you will only be able to move in a clockwise fashion, killing one enemy from each room before continuing. ;-)

Heh, I never thought of that. It doesn't matter in the slightest, but I do like the way you think.

They would get renamed eventually but not sure when.

As for lock-step clearing, maybe they could do a solo-dungeon trial like that in Skyrim's Labyrinthian.

IIRC Veteran Ranks are not going. Veteran Points are; you will still gain Veteran Ranks but it will be via xp and Champion points are a separate thing.

The Champion System is going to be introduced in phases, the last of which will do away with Veteran Ranks entirely. So, we'll still have VR for a while, but the end goal is to remove them.

Edit: There's a more relevant discussion about this taking place here as well: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/136815/is-there-a-good-summary-of-the-champion-system#latest

No problem. I'm unsure about some of the details as well. It's a bit of a confusing transition for everyone right now. I'm sure it'll make more sense as time goes on and updates are released.

So, when the veteran ranks are gone, all gear will be nerfed down to lvl 50, right? So does that mean my current legendary vr12 gear set will have the same stats as if I crafted a vr14 legendary set? After the system is overhauled of course.

I keep my old VR12 legendary sets from update 1, update 2 and update 3 just in case they ever become useful again ;)
There is no timeframe for the removal of veteran tanks though. It may even never happen given the very limited answers we get from ZoS.
If I had to guess, I'd day we'll get an increased to VR16 before the vet ranks are removed.

The name doesn't really matter. "Veteran" is just their term for harder dungeons similar to WoW's Heroic dungeons versus standard dungeons.

I hope not. Damn, some of us have families and careers and can't play that much. I'm VR 4 now and feel like I'll never reach VR 14 at the current rate. Maybe fix basic functions like leveling and skills and set bonuses before throwing ANOTHER 3 million more exp to grind on top of the 15 million I already need. (10 levels at almost 1.5 million each)

I haven't played in 3 months (college and stuff), and I barely reached level 42! After 3 months of play!

yeah I hear you I work as night janitor and the only time I get to play is at 2 o'clock in the morning or noon til 230pm in the peak population is not until about 4 pm for me which I'm working

I hope they come out with companions soon cuz I cannot play any group content except for my days off which averages to be four times a month

it really sucks when you spend a lot of time asking for help when you know that nobody is there sometimes tire zones are empty I still have a lot of public dungeons to do because of this oversight and for private dungeons might as well throw those out especially in Veteran mode

the new update for veteran mode the one that gives you all the cool gear has failed to bring results to veteran dungeons on my day off I tried it set there for 2 hours trying to find a group and then pull the plug on it very quick so this on daunted update is totally sidestepped the issue it feels like they're saying play this you get this

Even worse when you play in Aus and feel the same issues try to find a group at 8-9pm our time which is 4-5am US time. Even though i have run Gold pledges a few times, none of the cool items drop for me, i hate RNG.

Still love the content, both now and what's coming.

Players can complete individual quests with NPCs, but The Elder Scrolls Online will not include long-term NPC companions such as Lydia in TES V: Skyrim or the Adoring Fan in TES IV: Oblivion. As an MMOG, ESO encourages players to create their strongest bonds with one another.

To make it easier and more social to "find one another" I posted the following Question to @ZOS a couple of days ago:

"I still do not understand why I followed the advice of Captain Rana to bring the villagers of Bleakrock into safety. We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. I don't mind that, just when there's only two people in the entire zone its pretty *** poor. multiple zones are like that, the only two people around are the ones who try to sell a junk. even during the zones high tide I think there's less than 10 and most zones.

dungeon content isn't very good when a VR 14 is trying to do a VR 2 dungeon I get that more times than of course if I don't play it with a VR14 teens I won't be able to do dungeon at all

I actually think this is good for y'all. Everyone seems to want to get to max level as fast as possible, and then they get mad because there isn't more. Just think of this as the fact that you will always have more to do, and don't think that you have to be top level to play the game.

If you go back far enough they said that in the final phase of the implementation of the champion system they will be releasing a gear tier system. With the removal of VR the dungeons will become just dungeons that increase in difficulty depending on the zones. Craglorn will be level 50 but the monsters there will be stronger requiring that you earn more champions points and obtain better gear before adventuring there.

With the introduction of new content patches they will likely come out with new zones such as High Wrothgar (Or whatever is called) in this zone you will more then likely find new quests and obtain better loot from monster then you would have in the previous zones such as Craglorn and the other two factions as well as gain more champion points.

The idea of this is that you can continue to increase in power but incrementally without being locked out from wearing or obtaining the gear from the new zones by a VR or two like they've done in the past.

Well... people will just dominate and out gear all the fresh 50's?!

Yes but they will be able to grow in power quickly as the first champion points they earn will be far more effective then the champion points that people will be earning in the new content and they are not locked out from obtaining the high end gear by a VR.

    Hope this all makes sense

when they reduce the level cap to 50, and remove VR, all 50+ gear will become MAX level gear (level 50) so dont worry about that

Those items that are vr14 will still be stronger in the new system too because stats of the items won't change. I am pretty sure devs said this somewhere. So all your gear will have the same stats they have now and there will be new tier of better gear coming out all the time. Your vr12 gear will never be useful again.

We have no idea how they will implement removal of VR - that's if they do remove it. Certainly it won't be coming for a while.

But if you want to stand by the logic of "all 50+ will become MAX level gear" then I have some VR1 gear that you can buy... don't worry, in a year or two it will be MAX level! :D
