What are the going sell prices for Weapons/Armor?

I am relativity new to the game, though on other MMO games I love buying and re-selling or selling goods, yet am unsure due to the fragmented market structure set into guilds as to what the going price is for certain items. Could someone give me a basic breakdown of what things sell for based on their quality, eg green, blue, purple, gold.

Such as I have this Epic purple weapon at the moment and want to sell it but some sites say 4000g, others say 2000g, i have no idea, there is no online market guide that i can go off.

Any quick answers appreciated.

Thanks

It varies by region, level, and rarity. Just link it in zone chat with price check and you will get an idea of what it is worth.

Purple items are mostly useful for the Tempers that made them that way, not the item itself. I break them down myself when I find them.

I pay 200 Gold for Traited items for research and sell traited items for research for 200 Gold. I don't sell anything above Green for that, Blue and better gets broken down.

If it's a Quest Item, then everyone will be getting one, so the value on those is kind of low.

Now, it would be even better to find or buy and then sell Motifs, Tempers and Improvement Materials, Raw Materials, Reagents, Provisioning Mats, Recipes and things like that. That is a larger part of the economy than weapons and armor are. Most people can make what they need or find a Guild Mate to make it for them, what they don't have are materials.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

A purple item with no set or a useless set should be going for less than the average price of 1 purple crafting mat because you are only buying a gamble to get that when you decon it.The same goes for for blues or yellows. The price of useful sets only depends on the weather.

You haven't mentioned what trait, set, or level. These will all, and possibly racial style, also affect your sales. Generic epic weapon will sell for it's deconstruction value or the disposable coin carried around by the average player at the level of the weapon.

Your price will idealy be: the market price of materials + added margin given the average gold of players at that level +/- the demand for that set/trait/style +/- the visibility of where you sell it - what you are willing to undercut the competition by. This is also modified slightly upwards by how long you are willing to wait to make a sale provided you are not way overpriced for your item's demand point.

The surest way to find current market values and demand is to search the guild store booths. Look as closely as posible for items that match what you want to sell, similar items, and the price of components. Also take note of how long items have been on sale for. This is a lot of work up front, but after you have an idea you can rest assured prices will remain largely stable. The exception will be updates that change or add new gear.

    Good luck with your sales.
