Veteran Level, where do I go after the Rift?

Hi

I just finished the Rift and I'm Veteran Level 9.
I only need about 200,000 points to get to 10.

I'm not sure where I'm supposed to go from here.

I've done virtually every Quest and Dungeon up to this point from the start.

Only a very few Veteran Level Group Dungeons and Group Bosses that are still black in any area up to this point.

I'm using Destinations so I've checked everything off.

The only area I see active on the map are Cyrodiil and Craglorn, but the stuff in Craglorn is all level 13?

It's bad enough always being a level behind and never catching up but 4 levels it too much, not to mention that every thing there seems to be in groups of 3 or more.

It seems like I should be starting a new series of areas but I don't see anyplace to go?

I don't have any quests in my book for any level, so no clue as to where to go.

I don't even have any quest category for Cadwell and every one of his quest is marked as done.

So what do I do next?

Mike

If you have been underleveled for the entire VR experience, you can not have done all quests. I have not done more than a couple of group dungeons for my highest VR character, but made sure to more or less clean out each area for solo quests, and I am generally hitting the next veteran rank slightly before I am done with each zone.

The only thing I can think of that would cause underleveling would be if you play sneaky and avoid many mobs instead of killing them, or run alongside other players and let them do a lot of the killing without grouping up with them. Farming mobs can make some difference, so skipping them could cause problems with falling behind in XP.

On topic, leveling past the second VR faction requires you to go to Craglorn or Cyrodiil, or revisit some boring grinding spot.

You can level in Craglorn once you hit VR1, in fact, many players do that and skip questing in vet zones entirely. This is very popular especially on alt characters. Craglorn was released when I was something like vr 7. My leveling process up to that point was something like one VR level in a week but in Craglorn, it was one VR level each day. Xp is really good in there and it is not even hard to find leveling groups.

I did all the quests I missed later when I had no longer to be worried about being at disadvantage in pvp and had no longer worry about being too low level for guild raids in end game dungeons. Quests were much more fun since I no longer had need to complete them fast and could focus on the lore aspect more.

You have probably missed ton of quests in previous VR zones, that may happen easily if you dont explore much or if you go sneaking all the time around enemies you also loose tons of xp. So what you should do now is either explore previous VR areas and finish the quests you havent done or go to craglorn and search for a leveling party. You dont have to be VR 13-14 for that, usually even VR 1 people go there and reach VR 14 in a week just by grinding so after 1-3 days of grinding you should have VR 12-13 and you'll be able to do Craglorn quests on your own.

Just go to Craglorn. You're more than capable of dealing with it at this point, people start doing content there at low VRs. Craglorn was actually designed for VR10-14, definitely not VR13+ (you may have been looking just at Upper Craglorn?)

You'll need to find a group though. A serious problem with this zone.

    Hi

I've been fighting the getting behind thing for a long time.
I can guarantee that I haven't missed anything.

In every map I have all the locations for every quest and most of the group dungeons are white.

I have all of my Explorer Accomplishments in every area.

At level 5, I was almost caught up, (I installed Destinations and went back and did everything I missed) but I've been losing ground again since then.

I'm usually a level behind, now.

I did the entire level 9 area at level 8 and then made Level 9 about the time I started the level 10 area.

Hunting isn't a option, I kill everything I see but rewards for hunting are so low that's it's barely worth it.

At one point I figured out that it would take about 133 hours of play time to go from level 9 to 10 hunting, if you could kill something on the average of every 1 minute continuously.

So making any real progress through hunting is pretty much impossible.

I'll go back to Craglorn and try and find content at more like my level.

That's where Cadwell sent me, I just figured that there had to be someplace else, because everyone I saw was level 12 or more and I went out hunting and the fauna was level 13.

All the other levels have the same level bad guys through the whole level.

But I don't see how I'll get from level 9 to level 14 in just this one level, if there is no place else to go after this.

I would do all the group dungeons and bosses but the truth is that since I got to veteran level I seldom see any other players.

Up to level 50 there was always someone around to work with.

In Craglorn, there are many world bosses on the map and they spawn very fast. Each time you kill the boss, you get about 37k veteran xp. Then you kill the same boss, or different boss, any boss again and get another 37k xp. You continue to do this until you are vr14. That is how to level in Craglorn. Those bosses are not soloable though so you need to find a group which is easy because there is always someone in the zone chat looking for more people to his leveling group.

Another popular leveling method is hircine dungeon in Craglorn. You go there with group of four people and in the last boss, you only kill his adds and ignore the boss. He spawns 2 strong adds and some weaker adds, those strong adds give 37k xp each. The boss will continue summoning those adds untill the end of time or until you kill the boss. It is very fast method to level and casual players should be able to get atleast one vr level each day.

If you have been underleveled for the entire VR experience, you can not have done all quests.

This is very untrue. My AD faction VR toon spent a lot of time grinding out veteran points, as it was often under levelled by the end of many VR zones. And I'm well aware of all the quests, delves, dungeons, etc..

There are several VR zones where the quests, Dolmens, world bosses, public dungeons, etc.. do not provide all the Veteran Points you need to be evenly levelled.

If you want to solo there is only one way to do it and that is to grind daily quests in Cyrodiil on your alliances buff server where it is usually fairly safe. There is NO way to get to V14 solo in the pve zones.

Craglorn grinding is much faster but just as mind numbing boring.

There is no solo endgame in this game what so ever sadly.

    Hi

Well I guess I'm done with this character, at least for now.

I know that the Champion thing is coming to replace Veteran Leveling but I don't really know what that's all about.

Maybe that will let me continue.

I ran all over Craglorn and about the only thing I could find that I could do was kill a few wasps.

I found one group fighting a bunch of Wolves or something and joined in but they just told me to "Go Away". LOL

    I have a level 30 character that I haven't played in a while.

I guess I'll transfer half of my gold to him and start leveling in the normal levels again.

I'm not to keen on doing everything over again, maybe it's time for a break. LOL

I really think that they should make hunting more rewarding.

That would let you spend some time on it and catch up if you are behind your level, as you can do in most MMOs.

It didn't take long to figure out that the only way to level is questing and when your out of those your done.

Unlike most MMOs this game doesn't seem to have re-doable quests, another way to catch up.

In The Secret World almost all of the quests can be repeated after a period of time, this keeps the game going a lot longer, I've been playing the same character there since it went live.

In additions to that they added a lot of new content over time.
