Buy Orders.

Why can we not place buy orders in a guild store yet?

This would allow sellers to see what people want, would make buying easier and in general help everyone.

@ZOS_GinaBruno

Is this something the devs have looked at and discarded or is this something the devs could look into in the future?

How would it work? I view the guild store and see that someone wants a gold v14 magicka glyph and are willing to pay 5000 g for it. So I click "accept" and then have a certain amount of time to make the item and deposit it into the guild store completing the transaction?

Actually sounds like a pretty good idea to me.

You see someone wants it, you go craft it, and then sell it to them.

Would be great for everything, not just crafted stuff.

When you sell, the item is removed from your inventory and mailed directly to the buyer and the cash is mailed to you.

The only problem I can think of is the fee's paid when selling items.

one solution would be to reverse the fee so that the person buying pays a similar fee for listing the buy order.

Thats pretty much how it works, yes. You place a buy order for a certain item, or amount of items, if you want to buy material for example. The money you are willing to spend will be drawn from inventory and placed in the guild store. If a player comes along that happens to have the stuff you want, he just accepts your order, instantly recieves your money and the item will be send to you or placed somewhere for you to pick it up.

Traders love this kind of system. I personally vote for it.

I think this is an excellent idea.

It would only need a little management to ensure that only one player can accept the order, the buyer could put down the stated price as a deposit (to prevent griefing) and the crafter could pay say 10% as a deposit which he gets back on completion of the order, or forfeited if they do not complete the order (again to prevent griefing).

I had suggested something similar to this back before we had the guild vendors here. I think it would be really cool.

There are a number of ways something like this could be imlpemented. Sellers (crafters as an example) could post in general there price ranges for different items classified by item type, level, traits, et al.. Also a feature could be added so that people could list what they want and others could find there posting and easily have a conversation to barter over price.
    Baskin Robbins always finds out.

Runescape has the Grand Exchange, where you can put a request for the following item with money in a box for the person who sells them the item. Good idea. we should have this too. its a bit like a auction house but hey thats the way this cookie wants to crumble.

I played eve online and i like the contract idea. But there should be a time limit, like 24h for example, that you have to complete the contract once accepted.
