Well, right now there's 4 vet pvp servers. We can leave Thornblade as it is since it's quite competitive, but what if we only had two other pvp servers? If we have 3 factions fighting over 2 servers that should mean the end of buff servers. If two come to power the third is sure to challenge that majority. Also it would lead to higher populations on those two servers, though they probably wouldn't be locked like Thorn is.

Uh that could work but then again if 2 factions own the 2 severs the 3rd faction be whining saying there underpowered or something like that and we be hearing non-stop purple, green, orange alliance and all that so it could be the answer or be a giant flame war.

From talking to other yellows, if you do anything that causes a global message (scrolls, gates, etc) then there are a lot of PVErs who come into Haderus. Things like asking how to use siege, the aforementioned door farms, etc.

Being primarily a PvE'r, the main thought that goes through my mind when these global messages flash across my screen is "I really need to toggle these off."

I'm definitely not going to drop whatever vastly more interesting quest I'm doing and rush to the PvP server to defend buffs I don't care about to begin with, and from most PvE'rs I know, I don't think I'm alone. Also, I kinda doubt that if all these PvE'rs were so concerned about PvP buffs and rushed to defend them every time they were threatened, they would still be clueless on how to perform basic PvP tasks. I suspect rather what you have are a mix of veteran and new PvP'rs, with a sprinkling of PvE'rs who actually care.

The point is that campaigns won't be as empty, or they shouldn't be, since players that home there won't always want to guest. I think leaving the buffs in for pve is a good choice because it gives a little incentive for some players to actually jump into pvp.

Please don't insult PvP players in general by calling the players who come to Haderus to defend PvP players. 90 Percent of them are rank sergeant and below and they all attack front gates unless someone with the presence of mind starts opening a hole in a wall elsewhere, that hardly screams PvP to me.

We took Alessia on Haderus a few days ago and had the AD come at us like EP normally do, over the bridge and up to the front gate. I was in awe of how easy it was to squash them.

It's interesting defending keeps as if I were the normal owning faction. Gives perspective I didn't have. :)

My experience in AD is different. A lot of times when people start asking in zone how to do things I'll send them tells to answer. Most of them are just new to PvP in general and are unaware of buffs. Haderus was the first server I went to because it was suggested to me. The population is so low and things move so slowly it's easy to learn there.

Might have had to do with the fact I was too busy farming on Azuras star for the first 4.5 hours of that fight while you rolled a bunch of RPers.

I arrived in the final 15 minutes of the fight (with only 1 bar on the AD side) and despite clearing half your group 15-20 AD pugs and 1 emp can't take a keep from a 30 man organized group no matter how bad you guys are. 1 camp and 1 NPC respawn through the front door the idiots used to enter the keep and you guys have an easy wipe on (almost) everyone in the castle.

If I didn't hate vampires so much I'd be tempted to go batswarm impulse spam just to show you how easy it is being an "army-annihilating faceroller".

I realized you guys were just toying with the poor RPers and I convinced them to pull out and turn the tables on you. I made 180K AP before the night was out so our spirit wasn't crushed at all. I'd rather you to have Farra because it is better than you guys farming behind your gates.

Must be a pretty damn big mosquito to keep 1-shotting you. You filthy buggers must be purged by fire....each and every one. There are so many meteors flying the battlefield sounds like a bowling alley and you guys are just pins bouncing back and forth.

It's not my fault I don't enjoy dying as much as you do. That's why Zenimax designed the game to crash....so you guys could get a kill in every now and then.

Buff servers need to die asap. Everything that goes on there is an embarrassment to PvP. We have 3 alliances trying to cram into 1 server that can't handle it for 1 reason...We have killed every other server for our silly buffs... Long queues, frequent crashes, terrible lag on the one remaining server all because "mah buffs". Are we warriors or insecure little pups?

We don't need to wait for 1.5 to have better servers. We can do that right now by putting an end to the buff server foolishness. Let Azura, Chillrend, and Haderus die in the fires of hell. We all need to man up and start PvPing like true warriors. We have 4 perfectly good servers to play on, lets use them now instead of waiting on ZOS to overcome our ridiculous behavior.

I was there! Not for all of it, I took a dinner break in the middle and came back. At one point, despite the large number of players there, we didn't have a single group. Not even a pick up group. It seemed we circled round and round Farra, poking at this wall and that. When we did get a wall down a large force of red would pour out and we'd scatter back to the resource guards, or around to the other side to poke some more. We sieged the corner of Farra (you know, the part that doesn't come down no matter how much you shoot it) for quite some time. I love our lack of organization, and I love when we bring down three outter walls for no damned reason. It's kind of a "Hulk smash!" spirit.

It was pretty awesome. I don't think our spirit was broken though, maybe some of the people who came from Thornblade, but most of us were just having fun, and were super glad there were other people there. I can't speak for everyone, but I don't want to take Kings and Farra from you. You're the only people we have to play with, and I want you to stay. It may be more active than it was before, but that's great, especially for learning. If there's no one at all to play against, and no keeps to fight for, how do you learn? I would like it if the blues made more of a presence. If the same number of blues showed up as reds, we'd probably be pushed back to at least the emperor keeps, probably even further since we're so very, very unorganized.

That might not be a valid strat for a squishy fragile delicate limp vulnerable weak sorc, since the efficiency of the impulse batmonkey strat involves someone running INTO a throng of people and popping impulse and batswarm for max damage. Only most of our core knows to back away from batmonkeys already and nuke the monkey at range.

Well at least most of the 'poor RPers' can take their deaths with a grain of salt, though given several AD players levied very grievous and vulgar insults towards family members of EP players, I don't think they can be categorized as 'RPing" so much as being 'inconsiderate jerks'.

You're assuming I cared about them to begin with.

I almost exclusively play PvE, and only have a home PvP campaign (Blackwater Blade and then we'll see) for when I rarely want to do PvP. I couldn't give two *** about PvP buffs, and I can guarantee you the vast majority of PvE players don't care either.

The only ones who do are "competitive" PvE players who do trails/etc, but that is a tiny minority of PvE players.
Tell that to the horde of AD that show up when Haderus is threatened.

And they're usually good eatin'. OMNOMNOM.

I think they have adopted a tactic of "ignore them so they go away". Perhaps we should get more ambitious on Haderus?

    Yes, please.
I think many... MANY of the frustrations posted in these forums would clear up if more people would just stop queing (queuing?) ((queueing?)) (((weird... it's queuing.. heh.. never knew that!))) for ONLY Thorn.

Buff servers are definitely going away. PVErs will come out for a few hours on occassion to defend their buffs, but PVPers are the ones that make the buff servers happen. PVPers will now have no real incentive to maintain these servers other than trolling.

It was the night after Thornblade reset. We started with the three keeps in the south (BM/BB/Fare) and sandwiched the AD defenders at BRK pushing from multiple directions.

The goal of our 12 man team was to keep you bottled at BRK until the cavalry (literally) rode in to the breach and flipped the keep as we were keeping inner/outer breaches open.
