NB V14 PvP 1vX! - Sunday 12.10.2014

Hey guys,

I´m Nathaerizh, a V14 NB on Thornblade (EU-Megaserver) and would like to show you a "normal" PvP-Day.
But first.. These are my first records in ESO and i never made a video in this game before.. and i suck at video editing

This is not a "best of" compilation and maybe nothing real special, but i would love to get some duel requests and feedback!

Good stuff man. I've seen you do awesome things more often than not in Cyrodiil.

No doubt, there'll be some posters here who will still say NBs can't 1vX like DKs and can't duel like DKs despite the evidence to the contrary, only cause they can't. Or that because you have a magicka build you're not playing the NB as it's "intended to be played".

I'd imagine some (that don't know Dusk) will even say that you beat some noob DK in the duels whereas they themselves would have done so much better on their lvl 34 DK alt.

You know, the usual crap.

I know my video editing is like.. u know :P but i tried hard and for a few hours!

Well the most on the EU-Megaserver knows that Dusk is one of the best DKs and we got many many long fights up to 30 minutes. (as you can see wins/loses one both sides!)
I just want to show a NB is playable at the moment and can be really good.

hahahaha, nice 1st person fight there at the end.

Also, impressive win against Dusk there. Only DK that I can't beat in open world.

Might pop in for some duels as they seem to be good fun and a good way to learn against players that would kick my ass

I run a pretty similar build. I think you should consider replacing one of the shields with immovable. It gives a good boost to armor and spell resistance and most importantly, it will prevent you from being knocked down which seems to be killing you.

Well i dont rly like Immovable cause the following reasons:
- I need my Stamina for my reflect, maybe dodge and in dangerous situations for blocking
- Immovable costs me a rly useful slot
- Its only for 8 Seconds and every good enemy will just ignore me until it runs out

I let me knock down very often to give my Enemy the feeling he is able to kill me.
He waste his ressources and i get my procs and shields
Harness Magicka is even stronger @ low health cause my stronger healing ward.
After the change in 1.5 i think i will go to the other morph just for the shield and using siphoning attacks permanently.
In short fights you don´t need siphoning attacks or harness magicka, but in rly long fights against dusk as example you need to get much magicka back.

its not that NBs have to be the medium armor ninja build, its that tons of people are getting tired of stamina builds being the underdog, and are just venting their frustration.

Uh-uh mister. I've always said builds needed some buffs, that's another thing altogether. I wanted to play stamina DK when I started 6 months back. Stamina DKs suffered as much as NBs in some ways, Templars with their expenisve skills probably even more so.

I get "flamed" every time I say that NBs are an awesome class by people still asking for buffs. I saw threads only the other day asking for fear to work on 6 people and the swallow soul heal to double. Crazy stuff

Give buffs to stamina builds to bring them on a par, by all means. But magicka NBs are immense and like the DKs they can't really afford buffs atm without being pushed into "scary" territory.

Its obvious why stam builds are gank builds... You need to be able to use your stam for blocking/CC break etc..

If there was a way to reverse rolls of stam and magicka depending on what you use... Then yes stamina builds would work.

Currently you go out of stam and your pretty much dead.

Exactly. Which is why I laugh whenever somebody posts a NB video and the staminerds start with the "I'd like to see you do that in full medium & dual wield.... LIKE A REAL NIGTHBLADE!!!"

It's like they fail to realize that every class skill in this game is magicka based and if you want to maximize your effectiveness you can't ignore that stat or those skills.

People crying about stamina Nightblades being 'real' Nightblades should take a look at the skills that Morrowind gives to the Nightblade class.

Stamina nb work just like stamina dks, basically got to kill quickly with bow as prolonged fights you risk adds and it's harder to escape.

Yeah but NBs already have a teleport. It's called Teleport Strike, it's in the name.

Your right you can use magicka as a utility, and stamina being a different play style. At the end of the day its just not going to be as good as soulac build.

Im just not into gimping myself i would like to use a bow or play a stamina build.

Stamina builds can be just as effective in my opinion, but require a different approach.

You can't go toe to toe against multiple people (e.g. more than 3) out of stealth, atleast I can't, but what you can do is utilize the cloak & restealth mechanism to take them out from stealth one by one, until there's a manageable number of them left.

In 1v1 I feel stamina build is quite balanced with magicka actually. There are bad match ups: magicka NBs (I've dueled Soulac, and I've beat him maybe twice against his 20 lol), sorcs with hardened ward+harness magicka (haven't dueled since the annulment nerf, so this might be fixed)

but there are good match ups also (most DKs, certain sorc builds), which might be tricky for a magicka nightblade.

Then there's 50/50 match ups like the usual Blazing Shield Templars & other stamina builds

Running out of stamina is very rarely an issue for me, since I don't hold block.

Block = Your opponent has control of your resources
Dodge Roll= You control your (and your opponents') resources

I run Block a lot on my DK as a stamina build simply because I apply an 800 damage dot that goes through block to you whenever I block.

Well play the way you want, everything could be good!
I would never run a full Stamina Build, cause i want to to use my Class abilitys more than once without running OOM instantly.
NB with a Bow and a mix of a little bit more Stamina than Magicka works pretty good.

The thing is most ppl going to full dmg or full stamina and wondering about low Magicka or low substain.
As you can see my dmg in this video isn´t that high, but still enough.
You don´t need to kill your enemys in 1 second..
(If you only want to gank.. you got 4 Seconds time to kill the enemy if he falls from his horse btw..)

In large fights, stam builds=useless. Dueling, ganking, small fights etc. is where they're useful.

I think you should know that this kind of resource gain no longer works, cause the little nerf to harness.

And well for this kind of Magicka gain I dropped some other stuff like Dps so I think it's a fair trade.
Even without Harness I'm able to get more Magicka back then I rly use, but I use the easier methode cause why not?
