As title asks; can you become a Vampire after you cure yourself from being a Werewolf? Or if your a Vampire/Werewolf, and you get cured, can you become infected again?

You can. But, you do not get the skill points you spent in those trees back. They're still spent, and (I'm told) if you go back they'll be there waiting for you in the skills you already bought.

Respeccing will get you those skill points back, however, even if you've lost access to that skill line.

You also do not lose the skill line experience (both overall and the individual skills) when you stop being vampire/werewolf. If you decide to become one again later, you will be able to pick up right where you left off.

I think you can but a confirmation from someone who's done it would be nice.

Also, how do you get a cure? Is it at the shrine in Wayrest?

The cure is from a priest local to were you received the Werewolf bite; you can read more here: uesp.net/wiki/Online:Lycanthropy

It is the same for Vampirism, you can read more here: forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/64587/vampire-guide-everything-you-need-to-know-zos-please-read-the-cured-section

    Both cost gold.

Thanks; disappointed at the need for the respec but glad to know I can do this (for the Achievements at least).

Although you don't get the full effect of being one, vampire can be leveled without buying anything. Vampire levels just by being one and gaining XP, you do not need to buy vampire skills to make the skill line go up, and, in fact, buying skills won't make it go up any faster.

You do need about 10-15 levels worth of XP to actually max it out (or about 1 vet rank's worth.) But that's all. Just go out, adventure, have fun, and five - ten hours later you'll be a master vampire.

Werewolves are another story. You can theoretically max it out using just the transform, but devour is an absolute must have, if you want to hit Werewolf 10 without weeks of grinding. It's a passive that allows you to partially refresh the werewolf transform timer. It has an internal cooldown, so you will gradually lose time off the clock unless you manage to consistently feed the instant it becomes available.

If you do have devour, it's possible (though, a little difficult) to take Werewolf from 3-10 in a single transform. You're out one skill point, and can pack it up and go home.

The easiest way is to simply find a large cluster of enemies you can feed on that are stupidly low level (like the Maomer Invasion on Auridon, the Covenant or Bandit forces on Bleakrock, or the pirates in Saintsport) and watch your transform gauge closely.

Each kill will contribute 5xp towards your next wolf level, and you need about 225 werewolf kills total to get to werewolf 10. (It's 15 werewolf kills to get access to devour.)

Also, for werewolves, being over level does not matter. You can (theoretically) level lycanthropy killing nothing but squirrels, deer, cows and other "guts" dropping animals. Though you can't use devour on any of them.

If you do not mind using something that might be an unintended feature, it is very easy to level werewolf to max in a couple of hours. Just find yourself a place with wolves. The area with giants just across the river from Windhelm has plenty. There are two types of wolves, white and gray. The gray ones summon two little wolf adds. Killing those gives a very high amount of ultimate. You will be able to do a transformation every other pull or so (the wolves come in packs of two or three).

I know on my 2hander, between Carve, Banish the Wicked, and Blood Rage, the ultimate comes up with frightening frequency, though, obviously, that's a character I actually want to use as a werewolf.

Thanks for all the info; now if anyone can set me up with a Vampire bite this evening that would be great.

Just an FYI; I dropped Werewolf the other night using the priest at the mages guild in Evermore in Bangkorai. By the end of the night I had received a Vampire bite and finished the accompanying quest to gain the Vampire skill line.

The Vampire and Werewolf quests are incredibly easy if you're at level, and go really fast.

The hard part is if you want to do it at low levels, for bragging rights, or whatever.

My personal record on that front is 16 on Werewolf. Though I've only run one vampire through.
