So I just watched Dracula Untold this Saturday and Dracula had some skills that reminded me of the vampire ultimate bat swarm. I just thought it was kind of neat plus the movie was pretty good in my opinion .

I am glad to hear there are other people enjoying the movie.

I have been following along updates on the project since filming and production since last year (which was all filmed) in Northern Ireland (mostly around Belfast and up in the Giant's Causeway), and then through August and September with promoting the film through social media, doing interviews, and getting to watch one of the premieres.

It's a very different take on the original Dracula book by Bram Stoker, but if you have read the sequel put out by his son Dacre Stoker you will see that it's not far off the mark. Though there will be horror movie purists who will hate it. It is much more history oriented, and is focused on Vlad Tepes the human more than Dracula the monster.

Like a few of of you though, when I saw the promo clips, I remember nearly spitting out my coffee when I first saw the bat swarm scene and actually commenting "here come the nerf requests".

Also couldn't help but notice how a couple of the vampires in the film actually look like Stage 4 ESO vamps (especially the females), just with a bit more black around the eyes. It was really hard not to make a comparison and a little distracting when I watched it for the first time.

I was rather sad to see they cut the scene with Baba Yaga out. She was basically the Hansel and Gretel Candy House witch, but it wasn't really integral to the storyline. I am hoping it makes the Bluray cut for deleted scenes, in addition to a few others that didn't make it.

Personally, I can't wait to see what they do for a sequel (IF, they make enough for Universal to let Gary do another). Charles Dance's character was absolutely creepy, and if the writers delve into the depth of evil just right, it could become an epic franchise.
