Crafting Idea- Reforge Option

Crafting ReForge Option.
I think it would be nice to have a Re-skin/ Reforge Option in the game.
Here is my Idea for each, they are similar but provide both utility and the Customization that most players like to have.

Reforge Style-Have the player who must have xx Crating level be able to reforge a Item into a different Style (Bosmer, Imperial etc). Reforging something is a much harder task then making something from scratch at times. So to Reforge Footman's Helm from a Orc Style (ugh) to Daedric. This process would cost 25 Voidsteel bars and 10 Deadra Hearts.

Reforge Trait- This is harder. you're not just changing how a item looks you're changing a actual property in the item itself. So to change Footman's Shoulders with Exploration and give them Infused a player would need 50 Voidstone Ingots and 20 Bloodstones (or w/e the Infused trait uses)

Of course this is a rough idea but i think it would put much more value on the trait and style materials, as well as providing a sink for the excess of mats that are currently out there.

If this is the wrong spot for this I apologize.

Regards,
Lavum

Your idea is a variation on a theme that's been posted here before. Generally speaking, I'm in favor of anything that will add to the complexity and appeal of the current craft system. The current system is a mindless grind. The only real difficulty is finding specific traits on every item for research, and there are a number of ways to get around relying on RNG for drops. The trait research times are not difficult so much as restrictive. Thankfully some craft changes are coming. I'd welcome some changes like you suggested. Anything to bring some interest to crafting.

If it was posted before I apologize for the repeat topic. I didn't see anything, and thought it would be something that would be great to enrich the game and the options currently available :)

Actually this is not a bad idea, there might be some items that are unreforgable, like the Crystal Weapon from the Fighters Guild, but this would be nice.

Love this! Crafting could really use added depth and challenge. A master crafter doesn't feel so master like as it currently will be in 1.6

On top of these suggestions, I'd also like to be able to craft existing styles like akaviri and what ever " the way of fire" style is. I'd like to be able to repair my armor with mats instead of paying for repairs or buying kits. What kind of Master blacksmith can't repair his/hers own armor?

I'd love to see self repairs done using up low level improvement mats. That way would kill two birds with one Honing stone (so to speak). lol
