PvP arenas?

What are the chances of a PvP arena being made? One of the things I loved best about other MMOs (like WoW) were the 2v2, 4v4, and so on arenas. I think I speak for all of us gamers that it would be a very welcome addition to the game.

Well sorry to tell you but I am opposed to this.

I do not want arenas around because we have enough whinage going on about class balance. The game was not designed for 1v1, or 2 or 4. It would be another avenue for people to complain this class is OP or that class.

I do not want Zenimax to try to rebalance the game to suit the desires of what I believe is not even a majority of players, let alone ALL.

If you want WoW, well that games is going strong go there and play it. This isnt meant to be a WoW clone game.

4v4v4 arenas are showcased at conventions (PAX QuakeCon etc ) and to my understanding, are currently on the PTS.

I welcome the idea of PvP Arenas. If not for all the other reasons of another game improvement just to get rid of my dueling guild camps that overlap campaign camps and to avoid gankers who go there to disturb people having fun. Not to mention I could actually battle the people I run with on Cyro...

As for balance issues, I think it could be an improvement to prove worthwhile of classes on smaller fights, so all good for me. GO ahead ZOS!

Arenas will be good. I personally would play the game a lot more, having some real PvP to play.

Structured matches are more competitive, fair, and help improve game balance. If you are one of those people who say arenas ruin class balance, then I have to assume you simply enjoy your class being overpowered in certain areas, because balancing the game is never a bad thing.

Balancing in PvP is not the same as balancing in Trials. So we would then get into two different stats. One PvE one PvP, would the PvP then would we get two different sets of gear. one set PvE another PvP just like WoW.

Sorry though it may be on the way, and much to the dipleasure of the WoW fanbois out there who want to warp ESO. I feel that this would lead to a train wreck down the road for both PvP and PvE encounters.

Also Zenimax is working on Class balance as you know though maybe not a a pace to suit you.

Not true.
The 4v4v4 arenas are only showcased at conventions cause they are not using the Live Megaservers there.
Maybe it will show up in Live Servers as well, but don't bet on it for the next 12 month.

As long as arenas do not take away from the pvp in cyrodill, I am ok with them for the people that like them, I think they are boring myself and like the freedom that cyrodill brings, but that is just my personal taste.

Like @Kego said, the arenas so far have been only for the conventions. If I remember correctly at the guild summit they said they were not working on adding arenas into the game. Know they have said that in the past. Also said they would only do it if they felt it wouldn't take away from Cyrodiil.

Also as of last week, no arenas were on the PTS server.

Personally don't want arenas in the game. Would rather just have Cyrodiil, but they need to work on some issues with it. Hopefully if they go ahead with removal of the damage AOE caps, that'll help. Only time will tell.
