Dark Anchor Improvements

It seems like Dark Anchors are pretty underwhelming right now. There is a missed opportunity for something awesome there, and I haven't heard of any plans to change them.

Basically, why not make them more like the Rifts in RIFT?

As it stands, they're too difficult to solo in most cases, but they're way to easy as a group. They're obviously intended for a group, but what's the point if it's over in 1-2 minutes and there's no challenge?

Increasing the difficulty and number of mobs (if left unattended-similar to Rift) would offer some awesome group play for level 1-49 content where it is currently lacking.

Anyone agree or disagree, or have any other thoughts on this?

I find them easy enough to solo personally. They only reason I do them now is for unique gear that drops only from Dark Anchors. I've done well over 500 Dark Anchors and am yet to acquire a full set of anything that drops there. As soon as I've got the drops I want, I'm never doing Dark Anchors again and will refuse to acknowledge their existence, I found them really enjoyable at first, but after suffering poor RNG rolls, I'll be glad to be done with them.

Future zones or maybe even in Cyrodiil, Molag Bal is the lord of brutality, of domination and so on. Why not make dark anchors in Cyrodiil more, brutal?

Dark Anchors spawn in Cyrodiil, destroying them functions the same as now. But they send out Daedric forces to harass the closest thing, whether that be a resource, keep or just general area where you can get ganked by anchor NPC's, I think if they attacked quest hubs that could potentially be a shock to those that only go to Cyrodiil to pve, if those players even exist.

Radiant quests from the fighters guild to smash dark anchors and retrieve an item similar to the forthcoming Undaunted quests, keys and chests, would be good. Another alternative to attaining the Shroud of the Lich gear would be welcome.

Okay, maybe they are easier to solo than I thought. But like you said, they're pretty forgettable in most cases.

I'd like to see the Daedric mobs increase in numbers and spread out and attack the lands in PvE zones if the Anchors are left unattended. The more mobs there are the harder it is, and the better the loot rewards would be at the end.

I like that idea. Maybe when they add in the justice system they can make it like this so the Dremora and other daedra can attack NPCs in villages and such.

Yeah that would be really cool!

There is a big difference in the number of mobs when there are a few players at an Anchor.

When I solo them, I get two or three Daedra per wave and maybe 3 waves. But if there are a few of us around, there are more Daedra to fight.

I remember going to one in a Leveling Zone with a VR character and seeing a single Daedra walking around but no PCs. I still need the Dolmen Achievement so I attacked. Well, next thing I know there are like 6 or 8 daedra coming after me. I could not figure it out, but then I saw all the players getting resurrected a ways off, it appears that 5 or 6 PCs started, then all got killed as they ran away.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
