1) Is the trifecta stat boost prevalent to more than one new item set? I was under the impression that it would only be one new armor set that has that?

4) Don't think they should be better than the current, but then again, they shouldn't be worse than the current (Sort of like they are - two mundus also doesn't do much for me. More trouble than it's worth, and it sort of kind of breaks lore.)

The arena set is still a new item set and that was brought in with the trifecta stat boost + CC break cost reduction.
The next new item set is trifecta stat boost + the double mundus.
If this trend continues - ESPECIALLY with the champion point system, there will be a very distinct stagnation in gear progression.

I would note that you are forgetting about the supposed introduction of "season gear" which right now, we know exactly zip about. Not that you don't make good points above, you do, but... to decry risk of gear stagnation just yet is a bit premature. I would like to hear, see, more about what that will be all about.
