Folded Note Quest Item...???

Okay so I decided to finally start working on one of my Many Alt Characters that I have, the question is I have this Quest Item called Folded Note. However it say double click to read it, but it won't, and on top of that its in my general inventory and note in the actual Quest Items inventory. So I'm kind of confused, I received this sometime yesterday in Auridon and I'm going crazy trying to figure out what quest its for since I can't get any Info from it.

My thoughts are maybe the end of a quest bugged and it didn't remove it from my inventory or maybe I'm just going crazy. I'm leaning towards Crazy at this point, but I don't know, any help, thoughts or opinions would be helpful.

It's a Trophy, stick it on an Alt, the Bank or Destroy it

Not sure tbh, but nothing from Vulkhel Guard, it could have been from one of the first Guild Quests though.

It's most certainly NOT a Trophy. Trophy's actually say Trophy on them.

I am having the same issue on an alt character. I just leveled her to 10, she's AD and has been adventuring in Auridon and Khenarthi's Roost, but I'm not sure where I picked up the note. I'm thinking more Auridon.
But the item says "Folded Note: double click to read" and is labeled "quest item" but it is in my Misc. category of items. It is taking up a backpack slot, so I would like to know what this item is.

Same here, picked this up in Silsailen in Auridon. Does nothing when used but I'm afraid to delete it.

Did you have the Mages Guild Quest active for that Dungeon? (its a book quest for that place).

It could also be one of those items that is supposed to trigger a quest. A large number of dungeons and delves have items or notes that give you a side quest, usually a delivery or fetch quest.

Yes I did have the mage guild quest (which takes place in Phaer not Silsailen) except it does not trigger any quest at all.

Did you pick in up in a delve (solo dungeon). Could be a quest (cycle through your quests) requiring you to deliver it to someone. This is just speculation on my part though.

I picked up folded note in Silsailen in Auridon as well, off body of a veiled heritance I killed. Its gives location of marines you are looking for. When you pick up the note and read it, there are 2 options (well 3 actually) You can just back out, you can choose 'goodbye', or the third is 'put note down'. I put it down, and it didnt stay in my inventory..
If anyone else runs across it, probably best to put it down after reading if it is bugged. I have not needed it to complete the mission or for anything else either..

This note is most definitely a trophy, even though it says it is a quest item (unique), it's now for sale in the Blood Born's guild store for 50k! (Yeah, right. lol), listed under trophies. Wanted to know what it was so I googled it and it brought me here. If it's a trophy it might have a special effect if assigned to the quick select. It's certainly not worth 50k though, lolz xD

@TheKillaBunny Where is that guild store located? Which platform/server are you on?

I'm on XB1/EU server. The Blood Born usually have Goh in Elden Root but they lost him this week. I'm in their guild though so I still have access to their store. You really need that note, huh? What's so special about it?

It seems like repeating issue, I just noticed Folded Note in my inventory, I was even able to put it to guild store for sale, since it's not bound item .

Who wouldn't want a unique quest for only 250g, so what it's bugged .

Can you even read it once it's in the inventory? If not, I think it's entire existence is a bug. The "Folded Note" should be a quest giver for the Real Marines quest, used as an Activator, and never added to inventory at all.

When in inventory, it had an option to read/use but when clicking on this, nothing was happening.

I type "had" because today someone bought the note from guild store , so I no longer have it.

Hope the buyer will have more luck with this item than me .


*ofc I'll return money back if the buyer realise he made a mistake and will write to me.

I did this, was because i had one on an alt, banked it, then used it, then got quest giving item again after i completed quest

I believe the note in question may be related to a certain April Fools day joke played by addons.



If the note in question looks like this, then it was an added "quest" by HarvestMap addon. You could disable the quest under HarvestMap settings, but it should have been removed recently as per that addon's patch notes. It's possible it did not clean itself up properly if you never read the note. Reading the note before the cleanup caused it to open, display a message, and then disappear from your inventory when closed. Thus, the quest cleanup may not have anticipated some users still having the note unread in their inventory.

It should be safe to delete. LOL at anyone who bought it from a trader.

Yep, that's the quest. Picked it up yesterday.

The folded Note Quest Item starts the Quest Real Marines. If you use it before talking to Hannilan it will give you that quest. Once you talk to him before using that note, it becomes useless. Destroy it if you have already done the quest.
