Questions about Craglorn....give it to me guys.

brandon.coker101_ESO
So I'm not there yet but I have a couple questions about Craglorn.

1. Is it fun?
2. Is there enough content in it to keep you busy?
3. How do you get to it?
4. Do you think that this kind of content is what ZOS should continue doing?
5. Will it keep people playing?
6. Are there many people playing this content?

    1) The quests are fun but unrewarding gear-wise. Some of them are relatively tough. Spamming Zone Chat isn't great. The grind groups are boring as all get-out, but the best thing to do, logically, is plow to VR14 within the zone via grinds and then try to find a good guild that is active to actually try the content. To clarify what a grind is:

You end up in a large group and run as quickly as possible from boss to boss or doing events that reward roughly 38K Veteran Points per kill. Some also drop loot, and some of the set pieces do sell pretty decently in guild stores.

Getting into Trials is almost entirely dependent on getting into a strong guild that does them, and that is ESO's "raiding."

    2) Solo there's essentially no content. It's all group content.

    3) When you hit VR1, you will have a quest open up in your faction capital to get there.

    4) No. I think they need to push to open up more solo content and leave the group content instanced since that is more convenient for pick up group formation.

    5) Definitely not. There's way too much spamming zone chat for groups and dedicating hours to it to complete a 15-45 minute quest. It's rather bothersome and inconvenient. The LFG tool fails miserably in gaining actual participation. It comes down to finding and joining a guild. Unfortunately, most won't take you below VR12 to actually do the content. So either do Silver and Gold, Cyrodiil, or grind in Craglorn for 2 weeks to zerg to VR12-14

    6) Actually playing it? No. Grind groups are almost always happening, though.

    1. Yes.
    2. There's quite a bit (quest lines, dungeons, open world bosses, and the grinds if that's your thing)
    3. Once you get to Vet rank 1, there will be a cart in the capital city of your alliance. Or you can port to a player that is there.
    4. They should probably work on some solo content at high levels as well.
    5. If people like doing group delves, yes.
    6. It depends on who you ask.

My big problem with Craglorn is that the groups are limited to 4 people like the group dungeons. Even if a dungeon doesn't have a quest line associated with it, you can not get in with more than 4 players (5th person gets stuck at the door).

But in the open world, your group can be as big as you like.

    1. The Arena and Trials are fun. The rest is the content is a pain due to the phasing and grouping requirements.

    2. There is enough content only if you have a dedicated group or guild that is willing to play it regularly. Otherwise there is very little to in Craglorn besides joining an ad hoc grind session, fishing or gathering crafting mats.

    3. There is a quest in Elden Root/Mournhold/Wayrest which will take you to Craglorn. It is the same quest for all three cities/factions.

    4. Absolutely not! Everything besides the Arena and Trials needs to be completely overhauled to eliminate the phasing and grouping requirements. Apart from those areas, the zone is a massive failure unless you love grinding.

    5. People have been playing the Trials repeatedly for over four months. I see no reason why that would change. The same is likely true for the Arena. The same cannot be said for the quest and delve content, which are largely unplayed.

    6. As soon as the majority of players reach VR14, the number of people grinding will plummet. There are already noticeably fewer players grinding nowadays. The number of people playing the quest and delve content was already low and it continues to drop significantly with each passing week.

    RE: #5

I personally can't stand any game that forces you to do perfect, exact tactics to complete a mission/quest/level/etc. To me, that is work not fun. And that is trials.

To each their own, but I will never attempt another trial again. And if ESO forces players to do trials in order to have the most superior gear...well, that's a deal breaker. Thankfully that's not the case.

So the trials are like WoW raids where you have some kind pattern type of gameplay? Like when the boss does this you must do that in order to live?

    Essentially yes.

    Something like
"ok, when this happens we need a negate. Then after the adds spawn, we need a veil. Tank needs to stay with the boss and move him around this way. Healers need to stand here to heal or we all die, be sure when he gets to 25% health you pop a magicka potion and burn him with impale, etc etc"

Try a few times, die, get lucky, win, and get a useless piece of equipment and a meaningless achievement.
