Is anyone still using bat swarm? (Should I ditch vampirism?)

Is it useful? I had it before the nerf, and then it was so good it just destroyed everyone, but then post-nerf I tried playing with it and just ditched it because it wasn't great compared to the other ulti's imo :disappointed_relieved: Now I'm a vampire that has one skill it uses, Elusive mist, which is also suckish. Should I leave the vampire skill line?

Great crowd weapon and the morph will feed you health. I use it seldom but then, i use ultimates rarely. It's a bit of a face roll in Cadwell's Gold these days

It's a good 'oh ***' weapon to drop when the going gets tough but it's kinda weak for single target stuff.

You should try it in pvp!

Mist Form + Dark Talons/Impulse + Bat Swarm + Mitigation. Take out whole mobs of people. Even better if you have Gap Closers.

The things in PVP that you are weak to (fire, silver bolts) either won't hit you very often when you are in a group or would also kill you if you aren't a vamp. If you focus mostly on PVP, I suggest rolling Vamp.

If you mostly do PVE, and the fire damage is too much to bear, ask yourself honestly if your real problem is the vamp weakness. Standing in red gets you dead, vamp or not. Big fireballs that hit you will still kill you, vamp or not. Harness Magicka, Mist Form still save you.

It depends on your playstyle. Yes, they are still OP. They are still ridiculous. They don't recharge ultimate before Bat Swarm runs out anymore but they are still powerful.

Someone doesn't spend much time in Cyrodiil it would seem.

I carry nearly 2000 fire resist on a ring and necklace. I never use em'. To many other useful things to hang there.

    Don't stand in the fire!

Bat swarm is one of those abilities in pvp that can determine the outcome of an engagement if used with skill but used at the wrong time it is irrelevant.

It does give you the power to act when you see for example an attack begin to falter to rush in and kill it off completely.

At the same time vamp mist is one of the best survival skills there are, in pvp in particular because people find it very difficult to keep you as a target once you are in mist form.

In pvp vampires are good, in PvE they are mostly a liability.

How does Silver Bolts kill a non-vamp anyway?

That aside, yeah... vampires are (too) good in PvP, from what I hear and have seen. That said, I always run in Cyrodiil as a vampire hunter, so I look forward to meeting you

Oh, Silver Shards morph can hurt people.

Standing in a group reduces the odds you will get hit by it. I never bother to spec against fire, I need my reductions. That is all I need is cost reductions, the only desirable enchantment for jewelry and I can't find a reason to choose otherwise.

I suppose if there were a Boss that I could get maximum level reward for killing who used a lot of one element type, I would consider it.

My DK is a Dunmer Vamp and yeah, no glyphs needed. My sorc vamp doesn't bother, as I stated. Vamps are good, you just have to know how to use them and use them for the right reasons.

If you aren't in gameplay situations where their abilities shine, you might not be the type of player who benefits from it. You need whatever will maximize your performance in the type of gameplay you want.
