Maxxed out mage's guild, is it a waste to continue to collect books?

I'm at the max mage's guild level, but I'm only VR8 and have done almost 10 zones, with 5 more zones to go. I'm curious if there is any reason to collect lorebooks anymore? My fear is that in the future the mages guild will be raised and those last 5 zones of books would be valuable in leveling up.

So what does everyone who reaches max mages guild do with the remaining lorebooks in the world?

No one can say for sure but they never have mentioned anything about raising the mages guild. If you are in to the stories you could get them for that. You would think if they do raise them they will put more books in to make it easier to do. Some people get them as completionists but I think most people just ignore them.

Thanks. So I'm better off just ignoring them. I would think they would increase mages guild in the future with more content, but seems like today they are worthless except for just story.

What? No! They get added to Shalidor's Library or Eidetic Memory. Don't you want to fill that up? ;)

Seeing as it's possible to join the Mages Guild "later in life", and you start with the level that you have from the Lorebooks you've already read, I would be very surprised if a person would lose out on Mages Guild levels if they later decide to increase it past 10 and you've already read all the Lorebooks. It's not like other Achievements which have been added later, where the numbers weren't counted before.

Hmm, I've heard about eidetic memory but am not sure what it is, is it useful for gameplay? Same about shalidor's library, what is it, just an achievement?

All books you read are added to these two depositories. Helps when you are in a dungeon and don't have time to read the books right there.

Shalidor for the 297 Mages Guild Books

Eidetic is for all the other books you read, meaning Non Lore Books

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
