I'm confused about Faction selection. I have an online ESO friend who can create any race character and add them to any faction she chooses at creation. I don't have that option. I'm stuck with the default factions for each race. We both have the Imperial edition and have Vet 14 mains. She thinks I have a glitch because I am unable to do this.

    Preorder bonus.

Yeah, I can't create imperial characters, It's not worth the extra cost to me, but because I pre-ordered I can create any other race in any faction, got to love that.

I have been looking around the game critically at this. Most players have a helmet or hood on. The ones that don't I don't really notice their faces I see their armor (I play zoomed out in third person). Other than the color of their hair, I don't notice any facial characteristics.

Changing the character appearance is more for the player behind the character than anyone else as they are the ones who are going to notice it the most.

In other words I still see no reason not to change the character appearance.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Well... this is why I LOVE Wal-Mart lol I didn't preorder the game, but I bought it from Wal-Mart. Little did I know when I bought it, it was the pre-order version. That's when I learned that Wal-Mart sells all of their overstocked pre-order games to people, even if they didn't pre-order it, so I get the benefits even though I bought it months after it came out :) Sorry for all you guys that are mad that I got this content without pre-ordering... blame Wal-Mart, not me :)

Yeah, there's still a fair number of boxes in the wild with Explorer Pack codes in them.

Also, some vendors were gutting their ESO codes at launch, and selling the Explorer Codes as a separate up-charge... the same vendor that was selling stolen Sniper Elite codes a couple months ago, come to think of it... what a shock. :\

That would be nice, but I think it should be kept to a barbershop. It wouldn't make much sense to be able to become younger or develop lighter skin.

Why? How does it have an effect on your game play. If I want to change everything from sex to age to skin color how does that change they way you play?
I want the option to change every physical aspect of my character excluding race and class.

"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

All the tools are already there. Just add a token in game and to the crown store that unlocks the face and body menus on character select the next time a person logs in. Been waiting for this since launch.

The character creation system in TESO is one of the best I've ever seen. Invariably though I make some decisions that I wish I could go back and change. I've heard rumors of a Barbershop coming (which would hopefully allow more than just the hair to be altered), but it can't come quick enough for me. Thanks!

It will come when Race Changes come to the Crown Store.

I spend WAY too much time in character creation. Both my Dunmer & Imperial are exactly how I want them.
I agree that it would be a nice feature, though. Definitely useful for people who make mistakes or for characters that do not match what they thought they were creating.

Personally I'm completely onboard with being able to change how your char looks, only thing I'm really not onboard with is race/gender changes as suggested in some other threads.

It actually boggles my mind how people get to max level though and suddenly realize how their char looks. The armor doesn't even change after VR. Usually I know by about lv 20 if a char is going to be aesthetically pleasing enough to continue. Before lv10 is more typical.

I do get though getting up to max and being tired of the same old char and wanting to change it up a bit.
And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.

I want this feature very much.
Since I have several characters where I wish to change some small detail that seemed all right in chargen, but turned out to be less so in the live game... and I am prepared to pay crowns for it too. So I guess it Will come, someday... just... I want it now darnit! ;)

Zos replied in july 2014 that a barber shop with services like adding character features, changing hair, color etc was coming. No time plan but they are doing it.

ZoS replied in Feb 2015 (ESO live) that the barber shop will come to the crownstore soon. No time plan but "expect it".
ZoS also stated that because of player feedback and suggestions to add it to the crownstore, they did.

Why people wants to pay with crowns instead of in the game without it costing you real money I do not know.
Lots players (In these forum) asks for it to the crownstore. ZoS accepted. *shrug*

On the last ESO live they stated this is something they are working on and would like to get in game ;) They didn't forget, don't worry!

Yep, this is correct! We don't have an ETA for it yet, but it is being worked on. :)

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/165626/the-barber-shop-is-currently-being-worked-on-community-input-goes-here

Please notice that the post is made by a player with the players suggestions. ZoS been clear on what the shop is.
Asking for things and expect what you ask for, is a mistake way to many players done....

Look it up. You save yourself a bad reaction.

I have noticed over the past year that players seams to read what they like the sound of. And ignore facts they dont like, even if its right there....

Don't worry, "cosmetic surgery" tickets will soon be coming to the Crown store, there was never any doubt.

They can't just hock costumes and mounts for cash forever.

Also to come at the cost of Crowns? Resurrection scrolls (equivalent to Soul Gems), buyable dyes that mimic earnable ones, potion/food bundles, and combat/inventory pets? I wouldn't be surprised.
What I lack in gameplaying ability I make up for in smack talk.

Well, you only get one face, deal with it. lol.

Seirously tho', I'd pay 500 crowns for each make-over.
..... I'm also too skinny, a guy in Auridon said "Hi m'lady" ...

Players sometimes NEED a second chance at their looks... you can pay for a plastic surgery, you should be able to pay for a Facial / Body Remake in here... Or a gym and a salon where you pay loads of in-game Gold to 'lose weight', use products*, esfoliate, I dunno, make something fancy

Exactly. Most games either have this from start, or add it later on, and its always sorely needed. All too often you make something that looks all right in chargen, and not so much in live game when your character runs around and all that...

I still would prefer two systems, a in-game barbershop for things that are plausibly "everyday" changes like hairstyle and makeup (much like the dye system), and an crownstore-fuelled option for character redesign stuff to make people think twice about their character eppereance when every change costs. But however they implement it, I really, really want to redo some details for some of mine...

Is this ever going to go live? I want to make some tweaks... My character has been in game for a long time now.

For role playing purposes, I'd like to show him age, have some battle scars, and carry a little more weight than when he first started his journey.

I would like the option to pick a different character voice , for crowns
Beesting, Bosmer Magica DK, AD EU, crafter
Slager, Dunmer Magica DK, DC EU, pvp
Farmer, Dunmer Magica DK, AD EU, trials build

Every major patch looks like the end of the world but somehow i just cannot stop playing.
