Guilds

I ve been in 5 quilds since i started ESO. The 3 of them are "known" guilds and i was there for some time
All of them were based on one group or two of elitist "all know" smart a.. kids and teens that they group always together and they use the "other" members only when needed or to fill a gap!
The funny part is that the most of the "others" staying there just because they want to belong to a well known quild
I have 3 VRs 13/12/8 and belive me i was asking for weeks for some help to finish the Craglorn quests for my first 2VRs and nobody was there to help me! Well..it was not because am a bad player or enything Its just that the main "gangs" were always locked in a ts room doing their thing
Apart of main story line quests "coulpling" the only thing i manage to do at Craglorn and that with the "other" guys was hircine's quest and that just because they were grinding after the latest patch! From the other hand i was always offering my help when any mate was asking for.
Really are there any REAL quilds friendly to new comers, ts active etc? Guilds that help their members share their knowledge show some tricks to others or all are apparted from old mates from other games and the newcomers just filling gaps and numbers?

That is one lame guild. LOL, "well known guilds". Kiddies have a strong desire to belong, to "fit in", and for social approval. Avoid them at all costs.

Yes, there are plenty of friendly guilds (full of adults no less, people who have their priorities right) out there, some large, others small. I am in two (the rest are trading guilds and a PvP guild) . You just have to respond to guild announcements, and ask in zone chat, and try them out. Listen to them in TeamSpeak. Don't be afraid to leave them and try out others.

We have a small guild <50 of primarily adults or at lest people who pass as such. No drama allowed or wanted. We are more interested in having a good time than a hardcore, elitist type group.

The core of our guild has migrated from Lotro -> Rift -> TESO. If you would like to chat with us @tatuaje will find me. My most played char is Tatt (Templar). If I am not on, try @ping.pong or @pingpong (I forget his account name). Tell him I sent the invite.

What really happens in guilds (from a successful guild master)

Usually a group of people start the guild and build it up with a plan to make things work.
-Over the months people come and go.
-Over the months officers and guild leaders try to organize events and participation.
--Members USUALLY join for personal gain, this problem is the root of why guilds develop clicks...you described them as groups of elitist smart ass kids or "gangs" who use other members. What really happens is different. These groups of people are the only actual members of the guild who participate with each other on a daily basis.
-Take in mind the majority of ESO players are solo players drafted over from the ES franchise. It's split about 50/50 TES fans and MMO fans

    -How you avoid this:
-Be part of your guild. If you don't want to be involved with events and communication on vent/TS then why should we do anything for you? The problem is people like you want your cake and eat it to. I see people like you every day. You are a dime a dozen.
-Helping every random person is not enough. Be part of the team. Set up groups, communicate with guild leaders often. In real life (Not saying ESO is a job) Do you get promoted just for coming to work every day? No you do it by getting noticed by your boss. Exceeding expectations etc. You dont have to bend over backwards for anyone but in successful guilds some people have devoted ALL of their time to making it work, So when you do someone like me a favor. I will notice it immediately.

Thank you for taking the time...
I am 100% team player...that is if there is a real team to play with!
Only at ESO i play mostly solo.... unfortunatelly
I know a bit of MMOs quild structure and works . I used to lead top quilds over the last 7 years in 3 popural MMOs in europe and i had enough!
Am not looking for "promotions" am really not interesting! I just look for nice quildmates to team up and enjoy this lovely game And yes i play every day am very active(3 VRs) and am present at all events but the teams are filled with the same guys over and over again ;)
Anyways maybe am too "romantic" for ESO teamplaying  or there are far too many kids in this game

edit* i play in EU server

Feel free to join us on (NA) msg me if you want

    @ExiledKhallisi‌

And there are plenty of young and old who play the game. I think what you are looking for a mature guild. Our guild has an age restriction. Most of us are older gamers And things seem to run much better this way. (Sorry guys tricks are for kids)

Guild that I am an officer in sounds like the type of guild you want to be in. We are Oceanic Timezone however and DC . Don't ever put up with bad guilds or guilds that do not provide the type of environment you are looking for.

A couple of key things to look for

    1. Strong leadership and identifiable chain of command for various areas

    2. Strong commitment to helping the guild as a whole as opposed to clique groups

    3. Regular events that are run in an open way

    Things to watch out for

    1. Elitism - there is no need for it and it will hurt your game

    2. People not including the guild in events - particularly when they go off into a group without at least advertising in guild an event is on

    3. Guild group taking pugs over suitably levelled (perhaps lesser experienced) guildies

    4. An overall lack of guild spirit which needs to come from the top down.

If you have any of those you need to watch out for start hunting for another guild that better suits you. Also check their website and their forums if you can - it will give you a good snapshot into what sort of guild they are

Also if you want to check us out you can at this

Just to add to the list of guilds here Reddithium (EU) is always open to new or experienced players.

We have recently been selected for the guild spotlight so now is a good time to join along with all our new members and be part of the growing community we have going on.

To address some of the points you have made in your post though, I think it's to be expected for groups of people to play together. For example I joined Reddithium slightly after the main influx of players and often found myself solo questing whilst the same few people went and cleared the vet dungeons or quest hubs. It turned out these groups had joined the guild at the same time, played other games outside of ESO together so after that I suppose it's to be expected. But, instead of just leaving and finding somewhere else I joined in the chat on TS (on one communal channel) and low and behold I've found myself an officer position. Obviously, I've cut bits out but the point I'm trying to get across is if you want to get enjoyment/usefulness out of your guilds, be that trading, casual, PvE(P), then you have to put some effort in and show the officers, guildmasters, smart a... kids that what they are doing for you is bringing you some enjoyment.

I hoped this helped and gave you a bit of perspective from the other end of the spectrum by otherwise give the guild spotlight a read and hopefully you decide we're the kind of guild you're looking for.

    Thanks, Dan (@ThorosofLeeds)

Well known guilds and the most popular ones might not be the best for you. I am part of a pretty popular trading guild in the Pact and they help more on questing than my past PVE guilds did...weird how that works....

Gaiscioch is a very friendly, helpful, and active guild, both in PvP and PvE. They recruit for all factions but they are Ebonheart Pact-based. If you're on EP especially, this guild would be a very good bet. You can google their name to find the website.

Redoran Sentinal Legion, also Ebonheart Pact, is as well, though it is a RP guild if that is something you're not interested in joining.

Council of Honor is a helpful, though smaller, guild on the AD side and which I've enjoyed being in as a member.

Edit: All of these are on the US server.

Plenty of them. I'm in 5, 2 of them are very small and just groups of friends basically, the other 3 are pretty big. 2 of them organize Trials runs and all all the time, but they're not...elitist about it.
I met all of them totally randomly tho, lol, guess I just got lucky. They don't usually recruit in zonechat, just randomly made friends with some people in there - literally randomly, met one because we liked each other's clothes and discussed fashion in ESO for like half an hour XD She's now GM of most Trial-active and succesful guild I'm in. Good thing we had such similar tastes, I guess=P

If you play on NA EP and still can't find anything, message me in game, maybe I could help. If not, best of luck in your search=)

I took over as guild leader of Out of Exile about a month after release of ESO and what Stratti says here is correct. You can't build anything if your foundation is made of "mud". You need strong leadership, i.e. your foundation. We have always run our guild democratically and openly so that our members have a voice in the guild. I think that is the only way to run a successful guild. You don't have the be the biggest or have the most members. What matters is the camaraderie in the guild. I does have to be a give and take between the leaders, officers and members so all works as a team, and when that happens it is a beautiful thing.
