VR14 Softcaps Seem Too Close To VR12

Perhaps this is a bunch of hooey because I don't have the exact numbers from when I was VR12 and my memory isn't perfect.. however, I seem to recall my Magicka Regen being 139 and my spell power being 140 (both soft-capped). Now, after reaching VR14 and upgrading my gear to new crafted VR14 gear of the same sets, magicka regen is 140 (1 point gain) and spell power is still 140. It makes me feel like the rise to VR14 made me no more powerful then I was at VR12.

Am I just making this up or does it seem like the VR14 softcaps are essentially the same as the VR12 softcaps.

I haven't gotten to VR14 to test yet but I don't think VR is meant to be the same as the 1-50. VR to me seems like a gear grind without it being a gear grind so it would make sense that it doesn't go up a huge amount. It should go up more than 1 point though.

VR14 is just one lollipop to keep you sticked to the game, nothing else
It's like a new Iphone, despite that it doesn't cost you as much.. so, be very happy and in 6 weeks you will get the next lollipop..

Being that you can go from 12 to 14 in such a short time what is expected?
I don't get the carrot on the stick thing they try to do when they just hand you a bushel of carrots.

I will only comment on your spell power. Pre 1.4, the spell power cap is 131 (?), Post 1.4, it would've increased then (maybe 133/134? anyone confirms pls).

For my personal experience, I increased spell power by 2 points (from 113 to 115) upon reaching v14. Because you're soft capped pre 1.4, two points couldn't possibly change your spell power now due to diminished returns (i.e. you require a lot more increase in spell power to even get 1 or 2 point increase in it).

So it has increased by abit.

You are not going to get +500 stats per level.
You are not going to get orange gear because you killed those two boars.

Also noticed that my spells' magicka costs increased but not damage delve amount. So my VR increase actually reduced my effectiveness somewhat

Handing you a bushel of carrots would mean they're giving you too many rewards. More like they're handed you a bundle of sticks wrapped in rope without any carrots.
