As to what use is the cloak - not for sneak attack bonus, obviously, but you can (assuming the cloak actually works) either boost your crit chance or remove DOT's from yourself, break enemy attack sequence, evade all projectiles that were in-flight towards you, get away from combat, etc.
There is one trick that works when cloak actually works. If you go in to sneak before using cloak, you can cloak and approach your enemy and they won't see you and will allow you to get off your surprise attack. The cloak (when working which is rare) will allow you to walk right by them without getting pulled out of stealth, and you still get the full bonus. I probably shouldn't mention it because I'm sure that will get nerfed next.
This I agree with. And I think it makes sense that you can't use your massive 2k+ attack multiple times in the same combat. Just because the enemy can't see you doesn't mean they've forgotten you're there, especially after all that damage you just inflicted.Beldorrub17_ESO wrote: »Once you hit something and enter combat, you lose sneak regardless of your eye open or close from cloak.

Cloaking while in sneak doesn't give up the sneak bonus. You need to be revealed to lose your sneak or use an ability that reveals you. Buffs can be cast in sneak such as expert hunter, blur, cloak or mark target.
Once you hit something and enter combat, you lose sneak regardless of your eye open or close from cloak.
Stealth and invisibility are two separate effects. The former is only achieved by crouching and having the eye close. The latter can be achieved either by the nightblade cloak or by a potion.
Only the former gives the sneak attack bonus.

It sounds like you are trying to disagree with me but I don't see on what point? I was just pointing that you can use cloak to avoid being detected in situations where you would normally be detected without losing sneak bonus. Maybe you were agreeing with me and it read it wrong?
