I left? I'm quite sure I'm still emperor.

You most likely got disconnected or crashed and died while crashing. Which causes your emperor buff to bug out. Relog somewhere safe, and when you reconnect you'll have your hp buff back :)

one of many poor decisions...but hey, at least when they accidentally delete a campaign, both versions get deleted!

    It's not that simple.

Highly populated campaigns have zerg trains, queues and lag. That's what Thornblade EU is most of the time. A bit less so right now, cause a lot of people are grinding or PvEing since the update, but it's still the case.

If you want to have fun in these campaigns you have to wait until 1-2am in the morning. The trains fall apart and it's mostly solo players and very small groups left behind. Suddenly PvP becomes fun for a while and gives you a glimmer of hope.

Lower pop campaigns, like Chillrend EU used to be, seemed ideal for people who wanted that small scale action. However if the population is not consistently high in a campaign, it's inevitable that one guild or big group will turn up in the late hours to turn it into an emperor farm or PvE buff campaign. It's the low-hanging fruit they can grab.

If this complete, out of prime-time hours, domination occurs several days/nights in a row, it eventually ends up pushing every small-scale player out of the campaign until it's dead. And that is the story of Chillrend EU.

They have means of reversing that trend, but they are not using them.

Lol the funny thing is, I took emperor and held it when chillrend was triple pop locked and AD/EP was double teaming us for dethrone and all we had left on the entire map was one emp keep. Those late night turtling at one keep were ridiculous. Some massive ap to be had

Chillrend is pretty dead. There isn't really any DC there either....except when you try to take something, then 50 of them load in from PvE land, zerg back a keep and then disappear back to PvE.

It's a DC buff server. I don't even know why you guys are still here, it can't be any fun or any challenge. There are like 12 ep at any given time and most of them are sieging with fire trebs and fire ballistas.

Lolll. I don't get it either. There's two new 30 day campaigns.

Teh fire ballistas. The best is when the pvers load up a battering ram at the postern.

Last night when i logged in (On the AD side of things) DC had each and every single keep and resource.

I saw less than 10 AD players all night and maybe 20 DC players, if that. No EP encounters at all.

At one point i got bored and setup siege on the Bloodmayne farm all by myself. I got the tower crumbling down and almost destroyed before a lonely DC player showed up. My guess is he just happened to ride by.

Chillrend is a ghost town ...

you realize haderus is the exact same for ad right? and if ep had a buff server it would as well? trying to take haderus is like a trial - first you get the *** pvers, then more and more *** pvers, then some half decent groups and players come in, and if you're there long enough, the best guilds come in lol

lol - a good analogy - when we guested over a couple of times to Chill when it was EP pop-locked and only 1 AD bar we'd take a resource just for poos and giggles and see how long we could hold it for

at first 3-4 would show up and 6 of us could hold it easy, then 8-10 would show up and we could hold our own (we're not as 1337 as some of the groups out there but we have a ton of fun), and then you know somebody used the batphone when 30+ would swarm off the walls and descend upon us

    good fun times :)

Haderus was always this way iirc because thats where AD chose to go when the old servers broke up. Chillrend however was a good, live, server that was sacrificed to make a buff server, and that was a shame. It does make a really good farm, and gives you a completely predictable enemy and controllable battlefield. I'm finding ways to use the pvers to my advantage so it's a workable server but it will always be 100% blue, and nearly vacant of opposition.

Sadly, with the server populations being what they are, Chillrend and Haderus need to be closed down.

I don't understand why people go to servers that their faction controls completely. There's nothing to play for. So far I've played Haderus as EP and it's amazing to see the AD population there jump on any opportunity to score a kill. They're almost camping on the home base doorstep. Now I hear the same thing is going on with the DC on another server? Probably there's an EP one too somewhere. I don't get the mentality behind it.

@Muizer They go there for the buffs.
Cyrodiil buffs apply to your character no matter where you are, so a lot of guys pick a server where their faction dominates to get all the PvP buffs and then turn around and run Craglorn or other PvE content with those buffs.

    Precisely.

The Cyrodiil buffs following you outside of campaign was ZOS's idea of getting the PvErs involved in PvP a bit more. It was a noble idea but hugely flawed. The result is obvious. Each faction holding 1 campaign ransom for the buffs.

On top of this, these buffs are inherently unfair both in PvP and PvE.

If my faction is getting spanked and hardly able to hold any keeps, the last thing I want is my opponent running around with 300HP more, with more spell and weapon dmg and 20% more crit chance. I mean if I was struggling before, I'm now losing all incentive to go there and fight, I'll go swap to a more balanced campaign.

If anything it should be the faction at a disadvantage that should be getting buffs. For the winning faction, it should be more material rewards, not more buffs. Like more gold in the drops and maybe some blue exotic drops instead of green. That would hit 3 birds with one stone:
    1) Stop the unnecessary domination of campaigns. Holding everything in an empty campaign gives you nothing
    2) Provide rewards for playing and gaining AP, as opposed to rewards (buffs) for just having a home campaign selected
    3) Stop the AP leeching . Players not buying camps and siege to save their AP for the blue drop boxes. If players COULD get those drops when they are winning the campaign, they'd be more inclined to spend their AP to help the faction get there

The above has been /feedback'd to ZOS by a lot of PvPers I know, but do they listen? No

I get that, but what's the rationale for people of the dominant faction to actually play in Cyrodiil when they control the entire map? Are these people selflessly sacrificing their spare time just to keep the map yellow while the PvE players enjoy their buffs elsewhere?
