THis would be extremely helpful... a little blurb after first logon after a patch that says things that are very game play changing... you don't need to list everything in the patch notes... but really important things would be nice to have a heads up about.

For example..

Your key bindings have been reset. Would have nice to get heads up on this instead of wandering into a mob and finding out the hard way. And this wasn't even in patch notes either.

Option to reset points for free or at a discount should be told up front too without pouring through patch notes. I would think that if someone missed an opportunity to do this simply because they didn't read every patch note... that would not be a happy camper!

I got a single pop up about some crafting points being reset, but it was so fast I couldn't read it. That was nice, but there should be other priority notifications given too I think.

Very good idea. Not everyone reads the patch notes - they are always very long. A quick overview of the most important features which all players need to know would save a lot of swearing!

Different things will be important to different people. Besides, reading the patch notes is a good way to pass time while downloading the patch.

The resetting of keybindings was a mistake that they have openly admitted to which is why it wasn't mentioned.

Personally I think the patch notes should be posted when they start the update on their game server.

No they should give us a list warning us of all the bugs reported on pts that made it live :)

I'm not sure about this one. It sounds good on the surface, but it would probably just say what they've already told us about the updates, at least for major content updates. For the hotfixes, it's usually just bug squashing, and the maintenance days rarely change anything too drastic. On the other hand, I suppose that some people don't read the stuff posted on the main site, so this might be nice for them. I'm gonna go with yes, this is a good idea, if only for the people who don't keep up with what's happening on the website.

Unforntuately, if they gave us a list of the bugs they were going to introduce and a list of the class skills they were going to destroy with each patch it would take twice as much space as the patch notes themselves.

Plus it's more fun to find all the borked stuff on your own! :)
