/facepalm not for the patches to fix patches but for not reading the PTS feedback & fixing the issues before going live

There are times I wonder if ZOS is running a social experiment to see just how badly you can run a game and still have fanbois screaming it's the best thing since sliced bread & paying for it! :-J

Well I'm a fan boy and have been defending the game.

But to be quite honest I'm getting a bit hacked off now and have even cancelled my sub, for now anyhow

Sounds like you are making excuses for them.

"Oh it's patch day. So it's ok the game is [snip] right now even though I'm a paying customer"

    Hmmm

Might be true but would also mean don't play for a week once patch applied.

It's funny you mention that, I used to think exactly the same during the 6 or 7 years I played DAoC. I wonder if there's a connection...
    Nah! Must be my imagination.

Well I'm a fan boy and have been defending the game.

I'll defend the game, because I generally enjoy it and it has some interesting and unique elements. But I can't defend the people who are managing it.

We're six months along here and they just keep making the same old errors over and over again. In the early days I was prepared to forgive them because all MMOs are largely a work in progress, but you do tend to see an improvement over time.

But these guys, I just don't think they fundamentally understand how to manage the game effectively.

Quoted for Truth. I am the exact same way. The game could be fantastic, but the people making the decisions seem to have no idea how to manage a game and the QA that needs to be involved in it. I get that they want to get content out every 4-6 weeks, but they've shown that they don't have the staff to meet those deadlines.

I'd rather see competent releases every three months than bad releases every 4-6 weeks.

They're in a bit of a hole here as they charge a sub. Logically the sub can't be for maintenance of what's already been released because the game had a sticker price and should be working (more or less) upon release. So to charge a £8 a month sub and merely use it to cover cost while they fix their preceding messes would raise accusations of, "no, you fix that in your own time at your own cost, not mine, the sub is for value add (content)".

People would likely point out there are plenty of F2P games out there that, whilst they don't have as frequent content updates, are far more solid, and ZOS business model would look vulnerable.

That said, I am fast approaching the point where I'd simply ignore the above argument to get the game working well because I am with you, the more they pile broken content upon broken content, well, I am sure we can see where that is headed.

the fact that they mess things up is not really expectable but hey ok, but the fact they ask us to test and give feedback but dnt fix it only make stuff worse is NOT expectable!

I think we can join the dots up on that one.
