Update 4 - Issues, Bugs and General Discussion

I am opening this Forum for folks to discuss issues, bugs or just anything about Update 4. It is an open forum and anything goes. Discussing issues you run into will bring them to light so that the developers will see them and can make fixes for them. So feel free to share any findings you come across that don't seem right about Update 4 right here on this forum.

This forum is also for general game and Update 4 discussion. I haven't actually experienced anything to do with Update 4 myself as it just came out today and I am going to start a new character. I just wasn't satisfied with my old one. I couldn't even beat Gutstripper with a Dragonknight but I have been able to defeat him as a Sorcerer using a Clannfear to keep him busy while firing spells at him from a distance. In my opinion Sorcerers are the most powerful of all the classes. I died a whole lot less as a Sorcerer than any other class. So I am going back to that.

My problem right now is my internet keeps going on and offline by itself so basically I think that it is a problem with my provider that is happening right now and it will get fixed as soon as they can get to it. I can't even get halfway through character creation without the game exiting to main menu and when I exit out to desktop my internet connection shows it is offline. This just happens sometimes and usually the best thing to do is shut down the computer and wait for a while.

Anyways as I said this is an open forum. Feel free to share anything you want about the game right here. I personally won't pass judgment on anyone and I hope everyone else will try to do the same so that folks won't be afraid to post their issues and ideas. Man my internet is being bad right now. So I am going to stop here and shut down for a while. With all that being said I am over and out. - Crimson Blade

@kijima - Unless my game was glitched when I tried to kill Gutstripper with a level 7 DK I couldn't figure out how to kill him in toe to toe combat. All Gutstripper had to do was swipe me with his tail and it was all over and this happened every time. I tried dozens of times and dozens of strategies and every time he'd swipe me with his tail and bam I'd be dead with one swipe and the Gutstripper quest is a Solo quest so you don't get any help from anybody. However I played a Sorcerer several months ago and beat Gutstripper on my first try by keeping him busy with a Clannfear while I blasted him with a magic staff. Dragonknights can't do everything and neither can any other class and guess what the Gutstripper Quest is a Mages Guild quest. So it may be that a Mage stands a better chance than a Warrior with this one. And your final comment where you say Sorry, but from there I can't take anything you say from that point seriously just shows your immaturity. I said anything goes on this forum and you decided to cut me down so I am just returning the favor. You can continue the argument all you want you will get no further response from me. This forum is supposed to be free from this kinda stuff so I am putting an end to it right now.

Yesterday I did a particular quest without problems. Today I do the same quest with another char and keep getting stuck in a door continuously just before end part, thus the whole long quest of nearly an hour is for nothing because I cannot get end reward.
So has this something to do with the new patch. Don't know. All I know is that I am back after lengthy absence and still really stupid bugs around. Every other game I played, if you get stuck, you type /stuck and it places you just a little further and you are unstuck.
In this game, if you are stuck they transport you back to beginning AND charge a fee for the 'trip'. Is that insane or what. Or not very experienced technicians?

There is a long-existing bug that makes you unable to change to a different mundus stone if you have taken the Warrior. You can change, but it will revert back to the Warrior as soon as you zone. I keep hoping it will get fixed, but update after update, the bug persists. Furthermore, I haven't even seen it acknowledged in any way by ZOS, despite countless bug reports and forum posts. Mundus stone is kind of a big deal. This isn't an insignificant bug. I've been stuck with the Warrior for months. MONTHS. It breaks my build. Please tell me you hear this and plan to address it, ZOS! I love this game, but this bug is really frustrating me.

It was supposed to be fixed this patch but someone else said its not. I can neither confirm nor deny this.

@gimarwb17_ESO - That has to be a new one. I've never gotten stuck in any doorway but a lot of the time when I pass through a door and go through a load screen when the game comes back in I am down in the ground. With that glitch I just wait for about 10 seconds or so and I pop back up and am ready to go but getting stuck in an actual door is a new one that I haven't heard of. It very well could be a new glitch. I will keep an eye on my game and report if the same happens to me.

So i can't get my "launcher" to open it just goes straight to the game. I looked for an updater like i read in many other posts but i dont see anything in the game folder. Anyone having a similar problem or know of a solution? i cant update or play because of this. I launched it as admin also...no dice.

@keithwmurrayb14_ESO - The only thing I can think of to try is to get the game to give you a new Launcher. It may or may not work. I don't know. To get a new launcher you have delete the old one and then download the PC Client and run it. Don't worry it won't reinstall the game but it will give you a new Launcher at least that is what this procedure did for me several months ago. If they have changed it since then it may not work. So it might be risky. May be better to call Zenimax Support and let them tell you what to do.

Edit: Had a bug that caused all sound from emotes to no longer work (despite game sound working just fine otherwise). /lute, /flute, etc. Relogging fixed it. Go figure. o.O

Hey at least the managed to nerf my nb cloak. I definitely felt to op the one time I actually managed to use it to escape from someone. Luckily the fact that the stealth radius passives are broken, cloak is even worse and night silence set doing nothing. Should combine to ensure that no nb is able to successfully leave combat or enter it via stealth again.
All they need to do now is stop sorcs using magic,DK's using fire and Templars healing and we will have balance.

Now the discussion is on track. Folks I don't have any answers for these new bugs but getting them out there and letting Zenimax know they exist is the only way something is going to be done about it. I started a brand new game with this update so I haven't run into anything yet but I probably will sooner or later and you can bet I will be reporting it. I've talked to Zenimax Support team and they read all these forums and having forums like this where issues can be reported will help in the process that the developers have to go through in order to fix the problems. So keep on posting. It will get their attention. We are paying them for this game and we expect results. If we don't get results more and more people will quit the game and I don't think Zenimax wants that.

- yeah i still have the installer thought about doing that but like you said seemed kinda risky....guess ill see what Zenimax has to say.

Don't know if anyone else as seen this but, crafting is now broken. The little window that pops up when use select an item to create no longer updates. When I change traits or materials or amount of material to use, the item window doesn't show this. I've tried this with 2 different characters and in different zones and crafting stations. I've turned all addons off too.

After the patch, it now takes a very long time for me to log in. I enter my password and then it a looooong wait for the character screen to pop up. Similiar thing when I altered my graphics. I turned shadows down, which meant a re-load of the UI but it was stuck on the loading screen before I eventually shut it down

Since the patch I have crashed pretty consistently throughout the day.

Not had a problem. Had about 4 hours play after the patch and no issues.

Actually, I have found a few small problems as well.

When I go through a door, into a new zone or anything else, it looks as if my siphoning attacks is toggled off, but it's actually not. Very strange but not a huge deal.
If I open up my map while mounting my horse, it will close my map. Again, not a biggy at all.

@antmck2011rwb17_ESO - Yeah crafting is broken. You can only make Level 1 items. I noticed that and when I am crafting the game will pause for several seconds when in the crafting menu.

@keithwmurrayb14_ESO - Excellent. I am glad that worked. You probably had a corrupted Launcher. How it got that way is beyond me and I bet if you called Zenimax right now with a question you would have a very long wait time until someone picked up because of all the problems that are surfacing with Update 4.

@Mitrenga - Not to divide attention but to get more from Zenimax. You can post your comment where you want to. The more places people have to blow off steam about these issues the more Zenimax is going to take note.

Moving with a staff out has a strange animation (have no idea if it is intended) but sprinting in first person with staff out will force the camera to go into a spasm of popping in and out of first person...

I hope you all are also reporting these bugs in game by typing /bug in the chat box and following the prompts. ZOS staff mentioned in the forums several times /bug and /feedback are the fastest way to get your problems directly in front of the developers.
