Crafting - For all Chars / Idea + Problem

Hey folks,

recently ... well since day one i started to lvl up my crafting skills to the max we all can reach. So last night i hit the vr12 and i was pretty happy .. since the exp rate is way to low... anyway..

I thought about creating a new char (first one) and so i created a dragonknight and went to the crafting station to craft some goot items cuz i know i have all maxed out and i can pretty much craft everything...

But then it hit my like a Lightningstrike.. i couldnt craft anything with traits or bonus effects because the Crafting skills i had on my v12 char doesnt apply on any other char u have on ur account.

I mean why in the world isnt it already implemented? Does anyone even lvl all the crafting skills up again, even if they have it already maxed out on a other char?
Well i dont think so! And even all the achievments u get by crafting is allready applied on all other chars which lvl 1 so why dont u just apply the crafting skills to all chars? Because now i have to switch the whole time to craft the sets for my alts. Which doesnt make any sense to me.

Could you please apply the Crafting lvl status to all chars of one account?

    Problem solved?

Why would you want to waste skill points on crafting abilities you already have on another character, anyway?

So why does the crafting ability on other chars even exist than? The whole idea of lvling up all over again is just not right..

Of course i woudnt do it! But the option to lvl all over again is just senseless

The more hireling mails you get the better. I have several alts who just level the three smith crafts so I can get more mats from the hireling.

Yeah wow.... i dont think this is the intention by Zos...

You wont get killed, if you don't level the professions with an alt. But not having the option to do so, would be sad for some people that want to make every profession on every character or at least some of them on every character.

I don't really see, where you're harmed by the current system?

the problem is to lvl it all over again but u already have it maxed out... I also wanna craft with other chars.. when im passing by a crafting station for example.. and i would like to craft the set .... but nooo i have to go there with my vet 12 char to craft it... thats my problem

Edit: And for People who cant play liek addicts like 8 Hours the day who have a Life with work and maybe familly cant just afford the time to lvl it all over again..

I mean dont u guys get it? U get all achievments withe ONE CHAR ... those achievments will be apllied to ALL CHARS.. So why would you lvl it up again?

Unless I missed something I do not believe any achievements are account wide, each character has to earn them separately.

If my sister knows how to smith metal, does that mean that I do as well? No, unless I learn it on my own time as well. Seems pretty simple to me, and appears to be working as intended.

Well the most player dont have the time to lvl it up all over again... Work familly etc.

So why dont applie to all chars... if u already done it and u have the achievments anyway?

The dye colors unlocked are account wide but the archivements are tied to each character.

No, but I can level different crafts on different characters. Or if I really don't want to switch characters to get me the right items on the right characters, I'll probably level up the crafts that I need on that character. It's probably going to happen pretty naturally for some crafts anyways, and I always seem to have some extra skill points, so why not level up a few crafts on each character.

Now, things like Enchanting, alchemy, or provisioning, I really only need on one character, so I won't put any points into those except on one character a piece. But the armor and weapon crafting skills will probably level up anyways through deconstruction, so why not put a few points into them.

Why do you think that you need every craft on every character, when you have access to an account-wide bank?

Achievements are not account based, only the dyes attached to them.

By this logic, I shouldn't have to do anything on my alts, so long as my main already did it.

"I completed Cadwell's Gold on my main, so all my alts should be be done questing too, right?"

"I ran all the vet dungeons on my main, so my alts shouldn't have to do those either, right?"

"I got Empress on my main, so all my alts should be Empresses too, right?"

You see the problem with this thinking?

There are passives for provisioning and alchemy that benefits the character taking those items. Every alt should level those crafts, neither of them take very long if you have the mats already.

You couldn't get me to level enchanting a second time, even for hireling.

Why would I do that? I have no intention of getting any other characters maxed out on Wood, Cloth or Blacksmithing, no need to do that work twice.

I have crafting characters and characters who quest. It takes 5 minutes to load a craft alt, craft the items, put them in the bank and load up the other character and use them.

I still don't get, where you are harmed by it. Of course, it doesn't support laziness. You have to switch to your main and make the set with your main, what will take you ... maybe 10 minutes max. But besides that, no harm done ...

lol... If you want to craft with other characters, then level it and spend the time on it on other characters. Just because you did something on one character doesn't mean you automatically know it all on another.

Sorry the game doesn't cater to your laziness...

I have a couple characters each with their own crafting skills, I just made another alt I already decided she will craft nothing and I'm sick of redoing the mage/fighter guild quests - so no guild joining either. And I'm really having fun playing her... Gotta admit though, its weird not stopping at crafting stations to break down the iron ore and jute and instead putting it in the bank for my other characters to deconstruct.

That's what I do and it seems quite reasonable. The only purpose of my VR 12 sorc is to craft for my NB.

It's actually kind of refreshing now to play my alts. I have reached L50 on the Armor and Weapons craft lines, but still have some research to do. So, my Alts are no longer required to farm for my crafters. I still poke into the containers and grab the better treats. I also only keep things that are needed for research, the rest gets sold, unless it's Blue or better. It's amazing how much gold can be made just from selling loot for cheap to NPC Vendors.
