EDIT: Originally suggested this... a LONG time ago. Before console release. However, now that the demand for SOME form of RP chat on consoles is "a thing," I think it is time to revisit this.

...

Please, please, PLEASE ZOS! No one else has done this yet, but since you are adding chat bubbles it would be a HUGE pioneering move to license one of the big engines out there to add this to the game.

Being able to talk at pugs with chat bubbles without having to stop what you are doing to type it out would dramatically improve gameplay and the overall quality of the experience in ESO.

ALSO, a built-in voice mod system (see below) where you can customize how your speaking actually sounds to others, selecting one of various archetypes and tweaking it with in-game settings, would be a truly pioneering move.

You could license Dragon Naturally Speaking or some other equivalent existing software to handle the heavy lifting.

"Damn, man, this quest is hard"
    "Which quest?"
"Final quest. I'm hitting the guy but I barely scratch him."
    "What guy?"
"The boss. I can barely scratch Molag balls."
    "HAHA what?"
"Molag balls. Balls. DAMN VOICE TO TEXT"

    That's why.
Seriously, though... Could be useful  and would certainly become a 'meme' with the atrocities that could happen (like the above) - which would increase the game's notoriety! So it's good!

Teamspeak and other programs are enough for voice commuication, please you should more focus on player housing than on these chat bubbles and voice chats.Player housing is what we need.

Please, you should focus on letting people focus on whatever they want to focus?

They are not mutually exclusive. It would be nice to have both.

They better not be putting in chat bubbles. If they are there better damn sure be an off feature. If there isn't the off feature will be my unsub.

If you think you get broken english when people type, it's going to have a meltdown when it tries to translate people's speech.

With console release and the drama of no text communication ruining immersion and the potential to RP, I believe this is an idea who's time has come.

Furthermore, I would like to suggest ZOS license Naturally Speaking and create an in-game voice chat customization (for PC as well) that lets you set up a voice filter to modify your voice to sound as you want your character to sound.

    "Make it so, number one!"

The software to do both of these things (voice to text and voice modification) already exist. ZOS would not have to develop anything other than a simple script to pass in the data steam.

All they would have to do is partner up with one of the big companies that does this.

Perhaps that is easier said than done...
