One of the most popular addons out there, Research Assistant gives you a visual indicator if a specific item in you bag still needs to be researched by you - so that you don't deconstruct it accidentally.

The icon is red if the item is to be researched and yellow if this item can be researched, but a more low-quality item exists with the same trait. There are also icons for ornate and intricate items.

Hi all, I am starting off a new series of polls about helping ZOS to start adopting addon functionality into the game. Some of those addons out there are so fantastic in terms of features, design and stability, that I think their functionality should be integrated into the game. A big thank's to all you addon developers, you are doing a wonderful job!

I realize that some addons offer quite specific functionality that is not for everyone, but others offer much needed and quite trivial UI enhancements. I also realize that some of these features were deliberately left out by the game developers, while others might just have been overlooked.

I am not intending to harm the addon community with this effort. Addon development takes effort, and while it is fun to first develop an addon it can become arduous having to update it with every new version of the game, so I am suggesting to include the best addons into the game so that modders have time to work on something new and be creative, rather than to have to maintain their creations.

The UI could need some upgrades indeed. To see what items you have twice, what item still needs to be researched etc. is good and handy.

Playing without it just sucked. Checking and double checking before deconstructing items gets annoying. I like how you can tie it all to one character's data, so you can have one dedicated crafter.

Agreed... basics like a combat log tab (for your character's actions and incoming damage), and general quality of life improvements like this would go a long way towards improving the game. The UI is sorely in need of help.

I'm perfectly happy with this remaining an addon. If they implement it themselves, super. If they implement it poorly, good thing we still have the addon.

I'm quite content with it being an addon. While some of my toons use it, not all of them do. Some things are just better left as an addon. Allows me to be minimalist when features are not needed.

Like many other things this should be included as an option in the UI, but then I'm not totally convinced ZOS is the best party to fix the UI.

Players should learn to be care full and think up ways not to decon your research item in the default UI. I have a system, so it easy to keep what I want to keep and what I need to decon with out being forced to use addon.
