Why is DC so underpopulated? [NA]

Hell i'm probably going to have to come to Chillrend because there is no DC left on Thornblade and I'm not spending my entire day taking back my keeps that AD took at night.

Hova gets pissed and announces he's coming to Chili, hey that's great we were undermanned and needed some help. But it took less than 24 hours for everyone on Thorn to follow.

first crystalized's group and the other red goes to chill to try to make it a buff server, then alacrity came to chill to help AD, then some other EP guilds follow crystalizeds, then chillrend resets to chillrend 2.0 and no mercy comes to chill to help DC, then EG comes because theyre useless without no mercy, then cloneinkks group comes to chillrend because no one else is left to fight on thornblade. meanwhile DiE stays on thornblade because all theyve ever done is PvDoor at night anyways.

just clarifying your timetable for you since you had things a bit mixed up

    Pretty accurate

Thanks, I'll admit I don't usually pay a lot of attention to mmo politics. I just look at it like:

lots of fun > fun > wtf > sucks

And we are teetering to the right of the scale and I think it's the player bases fault.

Wait, this is a troll thread right? DC underpopulated! The ones with the sexy (but not too feminine) Breton and the most iconic race of ORCS. You think people haven't flocked to that faction over Swedes and lizard people?? This thread is clearly intended to misguide or otherwise upset.

Any group encounter I have had with DC since launch has been 3v1 odds in their favor. This is DC we're talking about. The guys who intentionally crash servers, lock skill bars, impulse blob, oh and they act like they're soo good at this game.

I have never met a group of DC I respect. They only seem to care about turning the map blue. And for what? To camp scroll gates? It's the biggest flock of epeen dorks I have ever encountered.

*edit* ah, didn't see who OP was. mb. Point stands.

Because RED is the most aggressive color, represents the
progressive parties, sex, passion, or is the color of blood?

Because YELLOW is the color of Gold, which is what our society is based around. Gold is the color of success, luxury, power.

And because BLUE is a mellow color, associated to conservatism (even in politics) and peace.

after playing all three factions quests all the way through its pretty ebvious. While Daggerfall had the most diverse areas running from sand to sea to forests Ebonheart was generally bland with molten lava and sulfur pools..not a very attractive terrain to play in..yay for killing kwama...rrright.

Aldemeri Dominion quests were easy and fluid..surrounded by flowers and rich colorful storylines to match the terrain.

Only natural ppl chose wow land to stimulate their senses rather than the harsh reality of EP.

Somebody doesn't know the game he is playing every day has an EU and a NA server. EU means European Union, FYI.
Hence I'm only talking about EU where I belong, coped with general concepts you can easily find if you search. And yes, those rumors you heard are true!! There are wachine-machines outside of the US&A!!! Oh-My-God. No ***, ermm, dawgh!! WTF. And stuff.

Nope, I'm catalan. Not exactly from the land of Freedom Fries, oups, I meant French Fries, even if they actually come from Belgium. But I guess Belgium Fries doesn't as much as marketing as Freedom Fries. But, hey, tell me,
Can you locate Catalonia on a map without google help?
    Nah, I though so

I noticed something funny yesterday. I never really took into consideration how under populated DC is. Yesterday primetime pops were:
Chillrend: AD lock, EP lock, DC lock
Thornblade: AD lock, EP 3 bars, DC 1 bar (probably not even a real bar)

This isn't a QQ thread, I rather enjoy being the underdog faction. I'm just curious why the AD/EP both out populate us by 3-4 full bars of population.

I never played skyrim or anything, or eso beta. So is it because of lore? Some beta thing? Or some other factor unbeknownst to me?

Also, I see people rerolling between AD and EP. Is there a reason why very few people reroll DC? Are they scared of fighting the overwhelming odds? It's actually quite fun :) maybe some more people should consider it.

Thornblade NA had a good amount of DC this past campaign, but one of the prominent PvP guild (Eminent Gaming) moved to Chillrend this campaign. We took about 500 DC players from Thornblade so yeah you will probably notice a dip.
One of the biggest problems we had/have with Thornblade is there are way too many Yellow oceanic players that dominate the map after prime time hours. Most of us have lives and can't be on 24/7 to compete. Unfortunately my schedule is oddball and I am playing around 4am EST, it really sucked being on Thornblade at the time.

    A bit of anecdotal evidence:

At DC primetime, on Thornblade 1.0, DC queues were 50 - 60 at most. In comparison, AD queues could go well beyond 100. DC's population died out at roughly midnight PST, while AD could continue to be poplocked into the wee hours of the PST morning. This was when DC was fully committed to Thornblade. I am unsure about EP population issues, but it seems they tpyically follow a DC-esque model. I'd wager DC has less overall players than EP, since DC has never had an Oceanic zerg while EP does. Our Aussie representatives -- Gondor and crew -- have long since departed and now we have just about nothing at Oceanic primetime.

What I see as the evidence points towards noticeably to heavily populated towards AD, with DC likely having the short end of the population stick behind EP. (Though likely the diference between DC and EP PvP population is not too extreme.)

Friends and foes, it is with great sorrow that I must report I will be gone from the game beginning this evening (GMT +1 time) for a bit as we complete our move to a new city. Probably 2 weeks to 1 month. I will miss all of you as much as you will miss me.

I tried to start a character there a couple times. I was chased out both times by the largest collection of a-holes I have ever seen in a game. Played dozens of levels on AD and nearly everyone was kind and gen chat rarely had confrontations. My main is on EP and it is the same thing, most are very kind and gen chat is safe to keep on the vast majority of time.

I have heard from several other players as well who have tried to play DC and I keep hearing the same story that I went through. Gen chat is a nightmare, insults fly everywhere and I even joined a guild there only to witness extreme rudeness and when commented on I was simply told that that was how mmos were and that I should leave ... I did ... gladly.

This was a month or so after release and the rumor was that many hardcore pvp guilds went DC. I may have simply seen the result of that along with a more youthful crowd there but the experience was night and day different than playing DC and EP. DC does little for itself in recruiting new players. They are turned away at the door with the unfriendliness of players there.

Nearly all my pc gaming experience is through mmorpgs yet I fully admit that mmo players are the worst thing to hit this game. If ESO was made up entirely of rpg players from the previous TES games and other similar ones it would have the nicest community of any mmo. Mmo players, once the jewel in the crown of gaming, have now become some of the most confrontational people on this planet. Things have got to change. There has been too much separation of play style in later mmos such as Wow and those copying Wow. Raiding and pvp being completely different games within a game have bread xbox live-like communities. Competition removed from community has led to the terrible experiences one typically sees in FPS chat rooms. It is a nasty place to be.
