How I measure DPS is if I am alive at the end of the fight I had more DPS than they did. That's all the DPS I need.

No need for numbers. Besides, that just gives another person a reason to rank you or dismiss you based on a stat that has limited meaning in the mechanics of the game. Unless you do Trials, and we already give those people more than they need.

Recount works fine. The people that say 800+ talk single target sustained dps in PVE trials. You do not really need or get to do 800+DPS in pvp most of the time.

    edit
I failed to post before the "You don"t need a dps meter because I don't like to use a dps meter.I kill stuff without a dps meter I is so cool " platitude. Why the hell do you guys feel the need to post the same old BS in every thread about dps. The guy is clearly interested in his dps and uses a dps meter. The question was clearly about Recount and not about your freaking opinion about dps meters.

Well pve max i can do is 250-300...i thought NB's were made for DPS..i guess we suck in PVE then...so does 2h or BOW suck for PVE?

    NB's are Bursty, not Sustained

I don't know how many seconds it takes, but I take down 1,600 to 3,000 point mobs in one or two hits from my NB. I take down 6,000 to 11,000 point bosses before they have a chance to engage me. It only becomes a back and forth fight with Bosses that are higher than 11,000 points.

Yes, 2H and Bow is not going to give you the DPS. Although you can pull up to 800 points on your first bow strike (Snipe from Crouch with Surge), each shot after that is going to be more like 200 to 300 with Heavy Attacks and Surge.

I reach the figures I have in the first paragraph with 1H/S or Dual Wield, with DW giving more. With just 1H/S, I was having to fire off a second attack on mobs where my DW takes only one attack on most of them.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Kind of yes if we talk about sustained 2H+BOW dps for trials. They are pretty bursty though with 2H+BOW so they are pretty effective for everything else. I do know that there are people that get 600 dps with bows though on single target. For AoE I did get 1400 DPS+ with a 2Handed magicka/dex NB build,

edit. Added ''2H+BOW'' since It read like I was saying that NB are a burst dps class in general and have no sustain. This is not the case.

You won't be doing the same dps in pvp as you do in trials. The two measures are completely different in circumstances. 1k+ single target dps is fairly typical in trials (for NBs, this usually involves a resto staff build). If you had that single target dps in pvp, you'd be steamrolling anyone that you come across, since it'd only take you 3 seconds to kill an enemy player (without having to use any stealth at all).

Also, don't believe some of the stuff written above on how NB is only a burst damage class. NB is a sustained dps class if you want it to be; probably one of the best sustained dps in pvp due to siphoning attacks, whether you are bow or resto staff.

To Morvegil and Aeratus. Can you help by telling me what kind of builds you have? I want to improve my stats but I am no expert. Thx
