Dye System Request

I have one very small feature request for the dye system: if all colors are removed from a piece of gear, it should no longer be bound.

I'm not sure how complex it is to remove the Bound flag on an item, but I'd expect it to be an easy feature to implement and it would be greatly appreciated.

My friend does most of my armor crafting for me, and I like to try things out for a bit before settling on them. I'd to be able to test customizing the looks of things as well is testing their set bonuses in combat, but then be able to send it back to my friend so he can improve the item for me.

If there are no dyes on an item, there's no need for it to be bound, right? It'd be nice to get that flag removed when all the colors are.

Thanks :)

If you add a mechanic that can unbind items, then it will start unbinding items that are Bind on Equip. These are meant to be items that if you choose to use, you forgo selling them.

The Devs know this, and will not implement a feature that disrupts this.

I think it could be done at least with player crafted items. There is already a tag on player crafted items to indicate who crafted it, I think an implementation of my suggestion could rely on that, possibly.

Solution: Add a new variable flag, specific to dye bindings.
Remove this flag when the item is un-dyed.

The request is still within the realm of reason. Obviously I don't know what ZOS' development pipeline looks like, but hopefully the code is elegant enough that adding such a variable wouldn't be a major operation.

But crafted set items are already Bind on Equip regardless of whether or not they are dyed.

I just double-checked in game to make sure I wasn't imagining this.

    This.

If you're curious about how different styles of armors look, go to eso-fashion.com. No need to waste a crafters' time by making them create multiple sets for you.

Still doesn't make the above suggestion impossible.

I know I can use eso-fashion, but afaik they don't have every piece on a wide variety of character models, and some pieces, imo, look better on certain characters models.

I don't think this would be terribly difficult to implement, it's a rather small suggestion.

And it's not necessarily wasting a crafter's time if I pay them and they get XP for it (if they haven't gotten the line to 50 anyways).
