For me it would need to be more than a change in hairstyle. Change of facial features, body mass and height would also be very, very welcome. Basically, the tools in the head and body tab from character creation. You know, the ones we already have that could be unlocked.

I believe they mentioned at Quakecon that there is a barber option in the pipes.

Yep, this is something we want to do, though the exact details and time-frame are not yet determined.

So something that has been begged for since launch and is pretty much a standard feature of most other games is STILL not even on the drawing board? C'mon, really???? You've got artists at work making costumes for purchase in the crown shop but no one is working on new hairstyles? No new makeup or tattoos? No one has figured out this sort of thing is a HUGELY popular cash shop item? The mind boggles.

This thread is from August. It warms my heart to see how much time and effort ZOS has put into the barber shop since then. :D

I wonder if this is still something they are wanting to add... I do hope so, the ability to change body and facial hair/paints would be great.

I hope not. Char creation is important, playing musical chairs with char looks is a bad idea. With to many people starting changing chars looks, it will become very hard to tell who is who or change char's names.

That's the stupidest comment I've seen all day; Character creation is very important I agree but people often make mistakes and would like to change some things here and there. Sometimes people also make alt's who they think came out better and want to go back to another character and do the same.

Especially in this game where lighting is different in character creation and the voice examples are poor. Sometimes giving you a different look than intended and a voice with horrible sounding light and heavy attack swings.
I see nothing wrong with being able to change hair colour and style but, otherwise, take proper care with character creation.

The thing with "taking proper care in character creation"... sometimes something you carefully choose there doesn't look or sound like you thought it would when you run around in the live game.

My personal opinion on the matter is, we definitely should have a barbershop for "everyday" changes, like a different hairstyle, or changing adornments and makeup, all for a bit of gold cost.
And we should have a option for "character recustomization", where we can change everything, from skin color, shape, voice, whatever. And that should cost crowns. Either for a one time token to go there, or a culmulative cost for every slider moved, to be paid when you finish with your adjustments to your satisfaction and press the "make it so" button...

And next... they can then sell new options in the crown store. New hairstyles, new beards, new tatoos, new whatever... can't really see them missing out on that potential sourrce of income. And I'd be more likely to spend crowns on them then I'd be on the current conmsumables or costume packs... (although, that announced evening dress, I want! ;) )

When implementing this, please make sure that the current settings of the character are what the controls are set to. This will accommodate players that want to make a minor revision to their character.

Also, please include changing voice in addition to appearance.
Due to a typo in the system, the area was accosted by the Daedric Prince Moar Lag Brawls.

First let me say that there are obviously way bigger and more important issues than this one...

But I would like to know if ZOS intends to make it so we can change things like our character's hair styles, colours, ect at SOME POINT in the future. I think this is something a lot of players would want.

    Has anyone heard anything?

Is this ever going to go live? I want to make some tweaks... My character has been in game for a long time now.

For role playing purposes, I'd like to show him age, have some battle scars, and carry a little more weight than when he first started his journey.

Well it's now been a YEAR since they said they "wanted" to do this. Yet none of the datamining going on has revealed anything that might even HINT they are working on it! C'mon ZOS, realllllly?

Pretty much everyone I run into fits one of 4-5 cookie cutter look molds. There is almost no chance of me being able to distinguish anyone by their looks; the exceptions are people who made their character look absolutely ridiculous... or have a "power doughnut", because almost no one runs that.

I TOTALLY agree here. As impressive as the character creation is I'm constantly seeing characters that look alike. And NPCs that look like me!

Considering you can change armour style, put a helmet on and off, and wear disguises that make you grow a beard, I really don't understand your point.

We know they plan to add something of the sort... "soon". That's it. That's not enough, not for all those of us who are hoarding crowns to pay for all the character recustomization we really, Really, REALLY wanna do!

I for one would like to hear at least some reassurance that they are giving this a high priority, and a vague timeframe in which we can expect it.

I mean, sure, other games have started without this as well... but generally, refitted it as soon as they went cash shop (cough, SWTOR, cough)...

I would like to see a appearance / name changer feature added.

Also character names have to be unique? User names sure but there must be thousands if no hundreds of thousands of people who share my name.

As for relative heights, this may be helpful - I made a list of heights based on the character creation screen, comparing each of the races. From tallest to shortest:

    High elf
    Nord
    Orc
Redguard, Imperial, Breton, Dark Elf, Argonian, Khajiit (all are very close to the same height)
    Wood Elf

So I make wood elves as tall as I can, high elves as short as possible, etc.
