    1. You would be surprised how many players don't pay attention to their surroundings.
    2. My group can run from outside the keep to the inner top by the archers threw 10+ oil pots and not lose a member on the way.
    3. Impulse ( also a huge toping of waaaa this skill is op cause i die to it)
    4. Meat bags, Fire ballistas, Scatter shots, Nova, Banner, drop an oil at the door facing in. I lol at all the pugs trying to kill the oilier in the cubby by melee and he does it because people will still go in. If its effective, people will still do it.

tldr: Heres some tissues and soap for your tears and to wash off that oil.

The problems with your arguments is that it doesn't refute anything on the overpowered nature of oil pots. It simply does too much damage in too fast a time to too many players.

Your advice is don't stand in it. Which would be your same argument apparently if it did 100,000 damage per second.

You seem to pride yourself in the ability to group place tons of oil and not die. Apparently you want to turn pvp into "oil wars".

However, I'm not sure that is the productive to the entire pvp mechanic.

The problem with your argument is that you just don't understand the counter tactics that make oil a non issue for a majority of the organized groups. Non issue regardless if the oil did 100,000, 10 million or 5. People who call oil pots OP are people that die to them on a regular basis and like I said earlier, don't understand the counters.

Seriously, the people that stand in front of me, doing god knows what for the 5+ seconds it takes me to set up oil and start pouring, are not the problem. The oil is too OP!

Second point: Unless I hit 3 or more people with the oil, it's safer, cheaper, and probably quicker to Ambush, Suprise Attack, Incap Strike them down.

    Third point: 1) Cure Vamp
    2) Take half as much damage from oil
    3) Profit

Oil is the number one leading cause of death in Cyrodiil. PvP skill and emperorship is all about timing oil pots. L2Oil.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure real life flaming oil would be a near instant kill (or an instant take you out of the battle). And ya ya " then it should hurt you to" but then should all aoes hurt you too? No just use purge and stay away from oil pots.

So would an arrow to the knee... But even one to the face doesn't work. That aside, this isn't real life and oils have a place in the game. Just as you should be able to put them over keep walls and gates, you should be able to put them on rocks and hills etc. In a perfect world they would hurt you on flat ground, but that's a major if not impossible amount of programming for a minor "issue" in the grand scale of things.

If we're trying to be real lets not isolate it to oils, lets talk about the giant caravans we'd need to bring 20+ trebs ballistas, oils, camps and all that stone and wood to sieges. One person can build an entire keep wall with plenty of inventory to spare, lets rage on that if we're talking about realism.

just avoid oil by jumping (space) if it annoys you.
thanx to the awesome code every siege weapon can be denied if you jump at its impact^^

Oil is the elephant in the room. The way it works is beyond dumb, but it's needed in a major way.

You pour, people who stand in it get burned, it's not a 1 shot. It doesn't come out of nowhere with no warning. There are effective counters. I still fail to see the point how its dumb, broken etc. etc.

you should not be able to pour it right at your feet like people do. THAT is dumb.

purge, cleansing ritual be danged, its BURNING OIL, it should not be something you use directly in front of you.
