An Open Plea to Sorcerers, and to TES

daisy.spit_ESO
Sorcerers, we cannot run thru your pets. They block people in the banks. Sometimes we can't even access the bankers. I don't know if this is done out of ignorance, laziness, or griefing; but if your pets are not using the banker or planning on killing someone inside the bank, then please leave them outside. Thank you.

The worst is definitely when you teleport in via Wayshrine and someone who has a pet out has afk'd, or isn't paying attention, and everyone is STUCK there until they move!

I saw this happen with other pets not just sorc summons. They sure pick convenient spots like Banks and Crafting Stations... Part of me thinks they are doing it on purpose.

YES! Coming out of a doorway, or a shrine! I choose to NEVER use a pet (and I'm a sorcerer). ZoS, PLEASE make pets walk-through able! I'm sick of being stuck, or my group being stuck after a port just to be stuck with another 10 people in a single spot. And (for some reason) the person with the pet does not move. He does not respond to /say when asking him to please move to the side so we all may pass. This tells me he is doing this on purpose due to it happens more than twice a day for (me).

Paying gold to port further away when i'm literally 2' away from a shrine really makes me upset.

By the way, I'd like to say it's not just sorcerers. It's anyone with a stupid crab, monkey, spider, or any other stupid pet. You may have your reasons for using them. I however choose to not use them.

I wish the title of this thread could be changed to "Pet users....".

Yes, Daedra in towns and banks.. Would be nice if people just dismiss them when coming to populated areas.

Some people are doing this deliberately. In one instance I asked the person to put their pet away politely (a pet not a summon) after arriving at Daggefall Wayshrine. The did respond but it was along the lines of "lol nope its funny". I couldn't retarget the Daggerall Wayshrine so I had to teleport via the map and pay gold to do so then ride my horse back into town.

EXACTLY! I know they are just there reading everyone's posts via /say about how upset they are, or how to get out of being stuck. I'm old enough to know how to approach people calmly, and politely to ensure not to offend, nor instigate someone to become rude. However... that's not whom we are dealing with within this game and situation.

Someone (ZoS?) needs to prevent this from happening, or I'm afraid that too many people may report me for being rude due to this situation, and am afraid I could possibly be banned from the game. I'm not really sure how subscription MMO's work, nor how the policies are placed within rules if too many complaints are filed against one account. This is my first experience with a paid based game program.

I don't want to be banned. However, this is a major issue with me. After a while, I will get fed up, and get upset that they are not moving out of the way. It happens way too often! I spend gold to port from out of nowhere to a shrine, just to have to spend more gold (much more gold) to port somewhere else further. And at the same time, I'm afraid of being banned due to being upset at the person because pets are not walk-through able.

Lol, I feel your pain. I think this was one of those things that looked good on paper but just didn't pan out in application. Seriously hope they removing collision from pets sometime in the near future.

On a side note, I wouldn't worry to much about getting band for losing your temper so long as you don't go into a 15 minute tirade of profanity and threats. I mean in all honesty if they banned everybody who spouted off in chat this would be a very empty game :D .

Perhaps our best course of action is to simply report people and let them know we are doing it. Hopefully with enough complaints it will be followed up on.

OK. LOL. Like I said... I'm not sure what the threshold is upon being banned via reports and/or bad behavior. However, you do make a great point. LOL

Well... I do agree, and have tried. However, with 15 people stuck within the same square foot... It's a bit hard to determine whom is responsible for this action to report. Trust me, I've been patient. I've tried to report the one person responsible. I've asked everyone to port out just so I can find who it is. But it is either an issue of lack of gold to port out, or some other excuse, I can not get all people out of the situation to report that one player. Plus, at the same time, more people are coming in. LOL

It's a no-win situation that either costs you gold, or you just log out of the game and come back an hour later in hopes that he, or another player is not there anymore.

You got problems with pet gatekeepers and don t find a way to streak through, go around or do something else (e.g. find another bank)?
Is the cause at pet holder or collision control site?

This never happened to me. But maybe its a feature I did no know about. By the way my summoned pet would not do that ;)

Pets having collision detection is a bug. Players don't have it, so there is no reason for pets to have it. That they have been unable to fix that bug for months is embarrassing to the developers.

I hope they'll make the pets disappear indoors, like the mounts do.

My familiars rarely enter the cities, mostly because I hate the winged twilight's wings flapping on screen while interacting merchants etc. But also because I don't want them to block other players' routes.

By the way... Just to add to 'pet' peeves (see what I did there?)... It SUCKS when you guys have your stupid flying purple birds (don't recall what they're called. I can summon one, but never do). In a cave, or pretty much anywhere else, that SOB is in my damn face if I am behind you! I can not see what the heck is in front of me when all I see is damn flapping wings taking up my whole screen (in my case, a 75" TV). It really is nerve-wracking.

Doubt any complaints of this would work since... what are they gonna do? Get rid of them? Shrink them down to size? Make them invisible to allies or groups? Yea, doubt that. But I just wanted to add another thing to the list of 'pet peeves' that I have to deal with on a daily basis...

Damn it! You beat me to my post! I would like to say a gracious THANK YOU for considering other's when you un-conjure your winged friend when not needed. We are all much obliged. I can't say the same for battle situations... but hey, it's better than nothing at all. :)

    2. The only time you notice them is when they're in the way. The only time they are in the way is when they are stationary. The only time they are stationary is when their owner is stationary. The primary times owners are stationary for any period of time is at the banks or crafting stations. (and wayshrines) So you only tend to notice them at banks and crafting stations. (and wayshrines)

Incidentally, jumping/rolling usually gets you past ones that are blocking, though it's annoying you (may) have to dismount if they're blocking an outdoor archway. The wayshrine issue though, so far I've always been able to just turn around and use the wayshrine to some other destination and then hoof it.

edit: Incidentally, I don't recall ever having a trouble with somebodies winged twilight affecting my view of anything, and I play in first person where I'd assume they'd feel "bigger" than those playing in 3rd.

I play via 3rd person view (about 95% far). I suppose it is a bigger deal for us due to it is not over our heads, however in our face/screens?

Apologies... However... That is NOT 100% correct. And, I'm sure that would be one of the options at least some of us would attempt prior to spending gold just to port to another shrine, just to travel via mount to the spot we are attempting to go to.

@bennysbeastb16_ESO2 - Perhaps rather than presuming, you should consider the complaints, as well as the facts if you have not been in the same situation prior to pre-judging what you guess. Huh?

Sorry, however you speak as if you 'know all', and yet we are just a bunch of weaklings that do not know how to double tap...?

You, @bennysbeastb16_ESO2, say as you feel, and I will tell you as it is. /end from your 'presumptions' 'till you are within the same situation. 'Till then, I believe you have no say within this thread other than nonsense opinions, rather than facts. No?

I can confirm that dodge rolling doesn't work when the player model is already stuck.

When you arrive to the wayshrine the actor ends above and standing over the pet, and in that situation the dodge and jump does nothing, as neither walking or running... you just stand there spinning in place.

The only way to unstuck is to ESC to menu and back to game, or opening map or inventory, and after that animations start working correctly again.

I've noticed this happening quite frequently in the Rawl'kha wayshrine, since the time I started teleporting there.

Still didn't reported anyone in-game because of this, but if this continues to occur and is always in the same place, with the same pet...

Bah sir! I'm happy to hear that you had found a way out of your situation regarding being stuck. I use a 'game pad', and my first go-to when animations become lag, or I have a frame stick, or I am not able to loot from a dead enemy is... my first go to, is to break (double tap). After such, it is /reloadui. After that, it is actually logging out/in. After that, it is 'quitting', then logging back into game. After that... I spend the gold. LOL. Aaannnd... prior to spending the gold, that's when I get a bit upset, and may /say a few things that are not within my nature that I normally would never say to anyone.

Not true. Think: narrow dungeon corridors, and you're overtaken by someone with a winged twilight and a clannfear. The former flaps in your face, taking up the whole corridor, and the latter runs along inside you. Either way, you have no idea what's ahead or where you're going. Easy to run off a cliff that way, or right into a troll or two.

I usually just stop and let them get far ahead. I like to help clear the mobs up ahead, but sure, I don't mind if the conjuror does it for me...

What is up with Rawl'kha, anyway? That place is like, Grand Central Station and Fashion Week all rolled up into one. I think that's where newly minted VR12s like to come to strut their new duds.

I absolutely agree. I personally enjoy doing a dungeon fully... On my own. Yes, may be nerdy, but it is self satisfaction in most part. It is the same reason as I play as a stage 4 vamp at all times. I know I could do better If I 'feed'. However, if I do not, and still play and better myself from not feeding... Then I'm doing great!. Same goes for my gear too. I'm a VR9, and still playing with VR2 gear. Why upgrade? I'm kicking butt as it is. So why spend more yellow temper, when I don't have to? Hell, what's cheaper? Absorbing more souls, or buying yellow temper from guild/ /zone gold *** merchants?

So, just as Mr.@Srugzal, had mentioned, I'll wait for whomever has the damn pets, or conjurers to get though first, then wait a while (3 minutes tops) for all to re-spawn once again. As long as nobody else with pets (whom can not survive w/o them for some damn reason), does not come in within that time, I get to enjoy the dungeon all to myself, and reap the rewards of doing so without any help. ....

Yet again, I suggest everyone make liberal use of the /feedback system ingame to make this issue more known.
Also, this would not be an issue if wayshrines, banks, crafting areas and vendors had a "dead zone" around them that was clearly marked out. Pets unsummon(even cosmetic ones), horses vanish, and nobody can spam powers into the dead zones.

However, it's likely just a pipe dream, as the new grief...err...justice system is in the works, and they've already said vendors and bankers are targetable. Maybe it's not too late to get them to change their minds on that one, eh?
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

I play only sorcerers and always dismiss my summons once they've done their jobs. At wayshrines I always move out of the way once I land - I have Razak's spider and I'm proud of having earned him, so he's with me all the time, ticking merrily away.

I find the pets of other sorcerers annoying and in my way, so I make an effort to clear mine away when I'm done with them.
