I was right!

Back at release, when the forums were literally awash with hate, discontent and dire warning of F2P every third post on EVERY thread... I said that we should give it time. That when the free game time with purchase ran out most of the rage-trolls would leave to hate on another game and, viola! I have been proven (mostly ) correct!

Sure, there is still quite a bit of discontent on the forums, and rightly so, I feel. There are issues from beta that still haven't been addressed yet and some of the end-game content isn't WoW-esque, hard-core raiding and that annoys people.

But mostly, the people here complaining are those who like the game ( some even love it ) and want it to succeed. There are still a few 'I quit' threads but they are quickly and deftly trolled and then closed.

Let's use these forums to voice our ideas, concerns and insights, to offer solutions to issues we see and generally provide ZOS with positive feedback... and occasionally post silly polls rife with horrid grammar.

Except that that isn't the case. The trolls are still out in force. Nothing has changed.

The number of trolls has diminished significantly. Those that remain aren't nearly as obnoxious, vociferous or verbose as the ones who left with the free game time.

I never said they'd all leave because no one can every get rid of them all, but their population has been cut by huge chunk.

Oh I don't think they've diminished at all. I think many of us have simply learned to recognize when not to click on a thread topic because we know that it's just a waste of time.

Case in point... Look at the first page of topics in general discussion. Every single thread has Trolling somewhere in the thread. And a majority of the topics were started under that very premise.

Even most of the trolls on Tamriel Foundry are gone. Except like one who hasn't played since beta but insists that any sign of anything ever is proof that ESO is dying. But that's more sad than anything else at this point.
