If you delete your character, what happens to the name?

All the MMO's I've played fall into one of three categories for this:
1 - When you delete a character, you can NEVER use that name again for a new character, it's infinitely taken.
2 - When you delete a character, you will be able to use that name again for a new character after a few hours of waiting.
3 - When you delete a character, you will be able to use that name again for a new character instantly.
Which one does ESO fall under?

Once you delete the char the name is free to be used by anyone.
I'd recommend only re-doing your char with the same name at off-peak times, you'd be amazed at how many people will use the name you want.

Option 1 is extremely rare, I think only one MMO I've played used it, Lime Odyssey Thai version.

✭✭✭✭✭In this game, once you delete the character, the name is immediately available. Which is why my Mules all have cool names that I want to use in the future. Of course I need to figure what to do with the stuff they are carrying for me when I send them to the void.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
