Guild Tags: Yes or No?

So I know you can belong to up to 5 guilds in the game but aside from wearing a specific guild's tabard, there's really no way to show guild pride.

Would you be for or opposed to the institution of guild tags that would appear beneath people's names when you moused over them or targeted them?

It would look sort of how NPC merchants are distinguished from flavor NPCs.

Yes please. Would also be nice to see who was doing what damage to you all the time in PvP instead of just the last 5 hits on the death recap.

Guild Tags can only come along with nameplate. Without nameplates there is no reasons to have guildtags.

I'm not against it if you can toggle it on-off, and being toggle off by default.

If the servers could handle the addition of nameplates and guild tags then yeah, love the idea. I suspect they couldn't though.

Don't see why it couldn't, they added chat bubbles without much trouble.

I supose the info is all there. It is just like a add-on how you represent the info on the client side. I think it will not be a extra load for the server.

Ah, fair enough, I don't do guilds or PvP but was interested to know the significance of such things as guild tags. I assume then that you might have multiple tags that wouldn't all be displayed at the same time so that you would display the one you were running with at the time?

While I belong to multiple guilds I only have one I consider to be "home." IF you can choose which guild name you display that could be pretty cool. Plus,if I had a character that I didn't associate with my "home" guild but actually played them as being part of another guild it would be nice to be able to change the tag when playing that character. Overall, if guild tags become a thing, they need to be optional.

I could see it being used more for naming and shaming- zone chat and forums filling up with X guild is a bunch of Cyrodiil zergball exploiters! Y guild is full of cheaters! Z guild members pick all the flowers out from under me!

Also perhaps we'd see a new type of guild that exists only for vanity nameplates.

Still options are nice to have. There are a lot of other things I'd rather see happen first though.

Simple solution - once you cross into Cyrodiil, the only guild identity you get is your tabard.

Sure. Aids in advertisement. Promotes guild solidarity. Ease of operation for events, like live guild auctions.

It'll work just like GW2, you can only have 1 guild tag active at a time. But switch back and forth at will.

Going into PvP turns it off. Along with nameplates in general if they're implemented.

Tabards need to be like names, unique. I recently saw someone not in my guild wearing the tabard from my guild.

Yea, just by chance another guild has our same colors and same symbols but they are full of lowbies apparently. Need more symbols for tabbards..

In fact, I'd go much further & revamp the guild system.

It is nice that you can belong to 5 guilds, but this causes problems with guild identity/loyalty.
I believe a compromise could be found, where you'd be able to pick one guild as your "main guild", while 4 others would work as they do right now.

What would make this "main guild" special, could be "guild rank" progression system granting buffs or similar, as well as it being your guild tag.

Yes please, This game lacks community in a big way, why not let guilds have a little recognition. Everything feels so anonymous and cold when it comes to the social aspects of this game.

I would find this really useful especially in PVP. When I've played other games, being able to quickly identify players and what guild they were in helped with alliance work, putting groups together and helped to establish a more sociable climate in the game. With ESO, everyone looks exactly the same because there just aren't enough differences in dye colors or armor. It's nearly impossible to tell people apart easily.

It would be appreciated. Right now , it's impossible to know if you are standing right next to one of your guildies. And that kinda negates the effect of being in a guild. True, ESO's guilds don't necessarily have that feeling of camaraderie like other games have, as most if not all guilds player is in, are trade ones.
But still, it would be nice to know that person standing next to you is someone you have more in common with, than a simple fact of playing the game.

I wouldn't be opposed to optional tags. You can choose whether you want to display yours and you can choose whether you want to see them.

I would say only for guilds of a certain size. Perhaps unlock the 'title' along with the tabard. Otherwise there's not much to stop people from creating a guild just to have their own custom title under their name. That could quickly turn trollish or spammy.

Otherwise I would love it. I have two guilds I'm active in, a small, close knit one, and a large, very active one. Unfortunately, for the larger and more active one, the guild tabard doesn't work in Cyrodiil, as it's based in AD, and my character is DC.
