Group Finder

Is the group finder tool receiving some kind of fix or improvement in future patchs? I think is not working properly, and it takes too long to gather a group for dungeons, and you have to look for people using zone chat. I think this is very important for group content as it will allow to gather groups for dungeons runs faster and using the combination DPS-DPS-Tank-Healer. I think the game is great but this is a major problem i think for running dungeons.
Thank you

The tool isn't the problem. The problem is there is not incentive to run dungeon more than once (if even that). If no one is looking to run a group dungeon the best tool in the world isn't going to help.

They have some plans to expand the undaunted line to give special tokens/loot for completing dungeons after the first time. This should incentivize the players and make it easier to find groups

The tool is definitely part of the problem. You're severely limited in what content you can list that you're looking to group for, you can't see who is currently queued for a group for what content (ie. maybe if I knew that someone was looking to do dungeon X I'd join them instead of looking for someone to do dungeon Y), you frequently end up in a group without anyone set as the leader, and sometimes when you select the content you want to group for the tool will automatically change it to different content.

The tool isn't the problem, it also never was at WOW or any other MMO with it.

Our Community is because they refuse to play with people who might not be as elite as they are. They see the group they queue up with and don't like the setup so they leave the group instantly which results in a longer queue time.

I also saw people drop out after everyone moved to the dungeon just because dinner was ready ...

In my opinion the tool needs a few tweaks for instance an option "Casual / Progress" so that people who come for the story or a relaxed happening can pick Casual and those that come for loot pick progress. But it would also help if a penalty is given for those who drop out / jump from group to group like Healers do a lot.

Quite often these tools end up being ruined by the players abusing them, too often are people rude and unsocial in these groups as they have nothing to lose. Fix that and more people will use the tool, sadly even Blizzard didn't find a way to fix that, so they just removed any type of challenging content from the tool...

the tool is very much part of the problem. anyone saying otherwise has never used it. I gave up trying to search for groups for dungeons because of that thing.

I've used it extensively. It doesn't work *now* because no one is running the dungeons (I'm speaking mostly as a too to get a group to run a dungeon). But I remember the first month after launch.

The tool worked great because there were plenty of people running the dungeons. Now half of those people are sitting at max level and half quit the game so there are only a few people leveling up and there is no incentive to run dungeons more than once

I think all of those are good things to have and would welcome them, but they don't matter if there is no incentive for players to group up. The best tools in the universe aren't going to get you a group when you're the only one interested in running it.

On the flip side, even terrible tools will find you a group if tons of people are looking.

You said that the tool worked great. It doesn't. Is its biggest problem the fact that not a lot of people use it? Sure. What you're glossing over is that the other problems of the tool are a big part of the reason why not a lot of people use it. Fix those problems (and make sure everyone knows that they're fixed) and you'll see more people using it.

I'm assuming that you are aware of "tenses" I said the took *worked* great when there were tons of people looking for groups. And it *did*. I would queue up and in a few minutes I'd have a group ready to go.

It doesn't work *now* because there are very few people looking to run group dungeons. However, making the tool better isn't going to solve the core problem. Adding incentives to group play (incentives that aren't a one-and-done thing but incentivise multiple runs) *will* solve much of the problem. Then adding better tools makes sense.

Again, I'm not against better grouping tools, just saying the tool really isn't the problem right now
