Aesthetically unique Dark Anchor acquired gear

Hello community!

Purpose of this thread is to acquire data from all those willing to divulge on aesthetically unique gear that can be obtained from Dark Anchors.

I love excuses to do stuff'n'things, viable excuses to hoard stuff'n'things is great too. So, I'm in dire need of data from our delicious community in order to help aid my need for unique looking pixels.

Dark Anchors
Hood of the Voidguide - Ashlander


Obtained from the 'Travelling Dremora' rare general Dark Anchor boss

Shroud of the Lich [Stave, Head, Chest, Shoulders, Hands]


Obtained from the 'Lich of Mournhold' rare general Dark Anchor boss.

What other stuff is there? Is there more Ashlander gear? I know of the Red Mountain stuff, but that's medium and not obtained from Dark Anchors, so yeah.

Here are all the sets that are dropped in the game

Don't know how many are visually unique, I never collected enough of these to ever wear them. Note, the crafted sets are at the bottom, some crafted sets have an overlap with the Dropped set stats, but do not mix with the dropped sets.

Also, these things tend to drop in Level Ranges and in certain areas of the Zone, so if you see one, then stay in that area until you see the others.

I created a guide over on reddit (here) detailing such gear. As far as I know, the lich set, draugr heavy (Draugr Heritage set), and most likely ashlander (hood of the voidguide, mask of the darkest seducer, Mace of Menta Na and Ozzozachar's Claw) are all dark anchor drops.

Already scoured the wiki and so on, appreciate the gesture none-the-less. This is for any and all unique looking gear, set or no set. Such as The Hood of the Voidguide, which is not part of a set.

The Hood of the Voidguide wasn't on there, It was on Reddit, Shaarizad's post specifically which I've already +1'd many a month ago for It's sheer relevance.

Not away whether the Ashlander light shoulders, chest and so on are available in game, also particularly distraught that 'Voidguide' is not worthy of being part of a 'set', this thread functions to inform as well as hopefully collect data on the subject topic.

@Shaarizad‌ once again, thank you for taking the time with that reddit post. Makes it easier to edit this topic so everything contained within the original post is concise hard data with no conjecture nor speculation.

I just got that last night in Bal Foyen. It's VR1 ranked. Not sure if I still have it, but send me a message in game and if I have it, we can work out a trade or something.

I'm pretty sure they also drop from Dylora and her Sisters encounter ("Seductive Sisters"). I know for a fact the Staff does.

Teiji- It's my pleasure! I really enjoy the variety of armor in the game, and it's fun to find out what's out there. I too would love it if they had full ashlander sets in-game. Hopefully the game makers will continue to add new pieces as times goes on, and hopefully we will find more pieces that are already in-game. That's the other reason I put my guide together, so people who found these pieces would have a place to share the information with everyone!

It's really too bad that this game doesn't allow for a "preview" feature for gear. That friggin' huge, huge sword is cool looking and I'm sure that on the rare occasions it's looted it's just vendored.

A week ago, playing through a reroll, I started saving set pieces to give away to newbies on the condition that they put the stuff on and show me. Thus far someone needs 1/2 a level for the Brute set and I'll try to get screenshots; the hammer looks very big.

Hi Valen! I've seen that before, the medium Ashlander hood you're referring too, only ever one one person though. Hoping to get myself one sooner or later. I know it can drop from Dylora and her sisters, the Travelling Dremora generals but I'm not sure who else.

I've seen King Styriche's helmet and pauldrons; are these unique?

Also seen something called "Abecean Pirate King's something-something" - that a unique-looking dolmen drop too?

Oh, yes, that thing has been lying around in my inventory for ages. I sometimes use it for RP events.

Necroing this thread to confirm that it's obsolete.

I have an Abecean Pirate King's Armor in inventory. Its style is marked a Redguard.
I also have a Hood of the Voidguide. Its style is marked as Daedric.

Are these now just common trash? (Neither is even CP 160).

iirc, there have been a number of unique, appearance only (essentially) gear from Dark Anchors and elsewhere since release. Trueflame/Hopesfire, the Daedric Crescent Dagger, the stuff mentioned in this thread.

I could never figure their logic in removing stuff like that, it makes things interesting, and adds a cool collectors component to the outfit system beyond just motif collection.

Would be nice, yes.

edit: that had actually been my big hope when I heard about the outfit system - that I'd finally be able to equip some better set gear on my character who wears that thing.

Trueflame and Hopesfire both dropped from fishing in Stonefalls within the first week or two after launch, as I recall. They were never tied to the Dolmens.

One of the unique sets, Shroud of the Lich, got moved to Crypt of Hearts, so you can obtain it there. Draugr Heritage is... wherever you get that crap now, and the Draugr motif that goes with it is now craftable.

Dolmens in the level 30-35 range used to drop gear in the Dark Seducer Motif, though there were no set bonuses for it. You can still get those visuals from a costume, but not from individual pieces. Though the head piece was Ashlander for whatever reason.

There also used to be an armor set that would drop in the Golden Saint motif. Again, this was mostly redundant with the costume, but you could get the Golden Saint shield that way. The set still exists, but the motif was changed to woodelf (or something), renamed, and moved. Maybe Blessed Crucible? I honestly don't remember.

I'm not sure if the Daedric Crescent was ever accessible in ESO. The one that the world boss uses is not, really, a Crescent, so the asset may simply not exist. I want to say the daggers that boss uses are just a common Daedric dagger variant, but I could be mistaken.

The main problem is the costumes do not DYE as well as the Unique Pieces.

Yeah, I don't see Seducer/Saint being 'redundant' because of the costumes. You can't mix costume parts with other crafted/outfit pieces. You're stuck using the whole costume.


Hmm, in the new style labeling system, the Encasement Of Anguish chest is marked "Medium - Daedric".
edit: and the actual Medium Daedric chestpiece in the Outfit station looks nothing like it. I suppose that's just to say what style material you might get if you were crazy enough to Deconstruct the thing.
