PLEASE fix the cannot attack bug!>!>!

I've died to this now at least a dozen times. No rhyme or reason, sometimes in the middle of a fight, other times not fighting at all but can't initiate. None of the attack buttons work for some reason.

Internet connection is perfect, in fact I can sit there and have a message with another player or with zone chat.

Usually it lasts for a couple of minutes, but currently I've been sitting in game for at least 15 minutes and have been unable to attack or defend myself, prompting me to start this thread. This is game breaking and should be addressed asap.

it's never been THAT bad for me, this mostly happen for me in pvp, and it happens fairly regularly but not for anything as long as that.

I'm not sure what causes it so I haven't even bug reported it.

Yeah it's usually just a minute or 2, but this time it was extended. I had to quit out of the client and totally restart it, then it works fine except, of course, for the intermittent stutters the game goes through randomly, but that's a separate issue.

I'm on a wired connection as well, so I know it's not wireless interference.

I have been finding this happening tonight also, skills not triggering and staff not firing, have died to it quite a few times, it is certainly frustrating!

Unequip and re-equip weapon. If this doesnt work, /reloadui, then try this again.

If you're in the middle of combat, switch to your other wielded weapon and that seems to be always working. Havent encountered yet both weapons not working at the same time.

This is interesting actually because sometimes when I am in this mode and try to switch weapons I cannot, and the game gives text says "cannot switch weapons at this time" or something like that.

You can also try pressing the mail button (') or any other menu options that pops a screen. When you cant swap, you cant also get into doors. Doing this somehow at times restores the functionality. I have seen this in a fight where the enemy suddenly checks his inventory with the looks of the animation while being pounded on, LOL.

Woohoo, my night gets better. Now the entire client froze with a critical error, "data load failure" or something like that.

I'll give that a shot, I haven't seen a mob check its inventory yet but it sounds pretty funny.

I think he means another player did that in cyrodiil, one he was killing. Question is, did the guy lose the fight because of it.

I have had this bug happen. Hitting Esc seems to restore functionality. try hitting Esc next time and see if that is a workaround

I try punching the screen and yelling when this bug happens to me. It doesn't help my monitor any, but it makes me feel better. As a dw stamina nb anything to make me feel better is good.

Knew someone who lost a fight in pvp and threw his laptop out the window. Whatever works.

you should notice the players that you are fighting when this happens chances are like I have observed it happens a lot when certain DC players are near along with ALOT of other "glitches" like falling through world firing at the ground light attacks over and over.

Try switching to 3rd person? (or possibly vice versa?) I know there's a bug where you somehow get stuck in an animation in 1st person, and pretty much can't do anything except move around. Switching to 3rd person alleviates the problem. (though, in my experience, until you log 1st person is still unuseable. You switch to 1st, you're still stuck in that animation) Possibly there's a similar bug in reverse, though I've never heard anybody mention it.

Since the last big update, I've had this problem about every few hours, from being not able to click on anything or use the weapon/spells, up to the point where I couldn't do ANYthing anymore except for walking. Then it either crashed or I had to force quit the game myself in the taskmanager.
Often I also couldn't login back for a while since I got several error codes. My internet connection is fine, and nothing else stops the game from working either.

The support first gave me some advice which either didn't work or was not possible to do for some reason. But last night I got another mail back, besides of the other things which I cannot do or which don't work, it also said to flush the DNS.
So, the nice support lady told me:

- Click on the Start button
- On the Start menu, click Run
- Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter
- Power cycle the router to clear the cache so that it doesn't store the bad route

The mail was much longer, but this was the part that helped me quite a lot. It took a few seconds to follow the instructions, then I could play the game for hours without another issue.
This was last night, so I cannot tell you how long it will last but I could clearly notice the difference after flushing the DNS/emptying the cache.
Well, I hope it was not just a coincidence that it worked afterwards, but we'll see^^

This happens to me every few minutes in PvP. Thankfully I usually initiate combat so, most often, it results in me hitting Esc-Esc when I find I can't start a fight. Sometimes, of course, it happens mid combat and that's the end of me. In PvE it's survivable but not PvP.

All my skills fail when this happen. Can't weaponswap. Can only WSAD. I can't even tab-target. That fails.

That is a old bug. The first one says nothing but the second usually crashes your client.

I had the first message once or twice after 1.3.3 while trading. Quitting and doing a repair scan once solved it for me.

I have 'freezes' in combat. Eveything else works apart from my skills and my weapon firing. Basically the only way to fix it is to die. When this happens just as you are making progress on one pig of a boss fight you better believe it is mighty frustrating. This happened before the latest patch though. It is like something the enemy does puts you in a frozen state until you die or reload the UI. Seemed to happen a lot with Durblog orcs in Malabal Tor.

This bug is very annoying in PvP. Quite often happens on my after using Toppling Charge. Every ability is frozen from few secs to few minutes. Maybe problem is in my end. Any other templar can confirm this?

The way I get out of it when it happens to me is to press 'C' to open the char window then move to close it. It resets the bug and you can attack again.
Not I fix but i atleast found a work-around, which is more than Zeni has done about it.....
