What if the Map looked like this?

I believe there may be a subtle but important psychological effect taking place on the map that makes people attack the AD more than each other. What if the map looked like this?

or this:

I think by placing the AD in the middle it has a subtle effect that people naturally want to go to the south and middle, even though the maps are equally divided in a very fair way, I think that each faction should view the map with their faction in the middle bottom, thereby negating the effect I think may be happening.

I am sure that many people will disagree that the EP and DC do not attack each other as much as they attack the ED. BUT I am sure if the real numbers from Zenimax were revealed it would show I am right. We will never get those numbers.... but at least consider that I may be right about this effect.

you may be right about it - but so might the folks who think that the the theory of aerodynamics is wrong and that airplanes are lifted into the air by invisible baby unicorns who then fly them to their destination

just because ya can't see them doesn't mean they ain't there

at least consider that those people may be right

    AvAvA = AvBvC

    A+B will attack C when C is winning or C has been a *** to A or B

    A+C will attack B when B is winning or has been a *** to A or C

    B+C will attack A when A is winning or has been a *** to B or C

add in A,B and C will attack any of the others for any reason and make it look like any of the above is a well planned conspiracy

You guys may be quick to disagree about this because you benefit from the effect. I don't wear a tinfoil hat and am not a very paranoid person .... in fact I am quite a skeptic for the most part. I am not the only AD player who sees what is happening all the time. Anyway, now that the trolls have had their say, how about some real dialogue.

I'm DC I usually head east, but its not so much which way we head most people have priority for certain keeps, for myself its Glade>Rayles/Warden> Ash/Ales > DC. I thought people would be getting over making everyone teams up on X threads by now.

So you're telling me I'm more inclined to attack south even though I regularly head east?

OP, however it's justified, is Number 9.

    AD might be targeted because:

    - they're in the lead
    - they've got DC/EP home keeps
    - they have current emperor
    - they have DC/EP scrolls
    - EP/DC are too strong for the other so little combat happens up north, instead it happens in AD territory
    - Certain groups/guilds might dislike AD or find more AP to farm from them
    - People have a Potassium deficiency

Same can be said for any other permutation of alliances within AvAvA. If fighting against two enemies in a 3-way war is too difficult, might I suggest to those to play Hello Kitty: Island Adventure

well, for the pact, the AD seems "closer" than the DC so EP will attack AD more, at least from what iv seen. however, there is no secret conspiracy that the "elite" players keep on blabbering on about, nor are there secret alliances. its a 3 alliance war, at some point 2 alliances are going to attack one; whether its because that alliance is the most powerful, or if that alliance has been a d-bag to everyone else.

I think this is true a bit. Something about the bridge that makes it feel the trip is a lot shorter than going through a tiny gate.

EP loves the bridge. As do some DC players yet they bring less people than EP. I am not certain the bridge fights were planned to be of such importance. Usually EP isn´t even in position to capture Alessia. En route to DC controlled areas we don´t see similar bottleneck fights. At least, AD and DC don´t get stuck in one place for hours. To make it interesting Zeni should introduce some quest for taking the control of the bridge. Otherwise, it is just best to skip the whole bridge area. Sorry if off topic. Edit. NA Thornblade

About the map, regardless of what is your starting area the other factions relly start pressuring after you are a threat to them.

What if the Map looked like this?

Easy answer, it would no longer be representative of Cyrodiil and Cyrodiil's location within Tamriel.

Ive always stated that sub-conciously the arrangement of the map has given certain alliances an advantage. If you're in the south and the majority of your alliance are right handed..it would be more natural for them to think north to the right than left down. its a simple biological fact.

and no..don't rotate the map every campaign..make your alliance the southern alliance on your map always.I suggested this in PTS.

Pretty sure I have always gone for...

    Where needs defending.
Where is a good ninja target.
Where I can get Imperial keeps.
    Where I can get scrolls.

EU EP side is mostly just fighting where we can when we can and attacking what opportunities we have. I know the main reason we get AD scrolls there is because AD have less players during the early hours when some of the EP play, whilst DC have enough online to defend still.

yes the altmers are ES version of ***'s complete with a history of genocide and eugenics. while the ***'s didn't invent either of those they are most peoples first thought when those terms are used.

even as you play through the AD campaign. the altmers come over as complete [snip]. i don't know how anyone can enjoy being a part of that faction.

when I went thru it in vet zones, I did not find it so bad. though there was a choice, were I could save the elves, or possibly doom them to enslavement... I almost picked doom to enslavement:)

I did not say to move the North arrow to a different direction, but you can hold a map any way you like to show what you want, they don't always have to be oriented North. Also, while people individually may not go towards AD, or others may make strategic importance their top priority many will go towards the enemy of choice. When I look at my kill counter I have killed far more EP than DC players, maybe because I like to go East more than West, or maybe because the EP has more incursions into AD territory than DC. Moreover, many players have played Skyrim and tend to like the Nord race the best and dislike the Elven races more because of that. Some people have even admitted they dislike the High Elves because of some of the lore in the game. I think when you combine some of these factors together along with the rotation of the map you have a natural tendency towards attacking AD.... just saying. The evidence seems to demonstrate this as well.

From what I remember, about half of the keeps in the game are actually ruined forts in Oblivion. The rest are named after nearby landmarks (BRK, for example).

It is a fact that AD gets most of the attacks from both EP and DC. I have even seen EP and DC take different keeps and not attack eachother at all while doing this. Just to get their hands on AD scrolls.
Its is a rare thing when the EP attacks the DC, and that only happens when AD already lost all it had.

Currently in thornblade (EU) AD is last, so that is not an excuse,we rarely outnumber EP. Wisest thing for AD and DC would be is to get at EP, as they are in the lead with 10000 points. Does this happen? No.....
