Blue trophies that do nothing

Whenever you get a trophy from a quest it's usually green, has some kind of whimsical effect, and is reusable unlimited number of times. Then there are the blue trophies that drop from monsters that has no effect at all when used and is "consumed" or used up for no apparent reason. Anyone know what the heck are these for?

They are collectables. There are achievements for finding all of them that unlock dyes. "Using" them just checks it off the list on the achievement tab in your journal.

This would be nice if it were account wide achievements... I have a bunch used, but on multiple characters.

Yup. I've been giving them all to one guy fortunately but yeah that would suck.
I have a couple doubles now which are basically useless too..

Collectibles are account-bound, you can transfer them via bank so they all count to one character's achievements.

That doesn't help on the ones I already burned trying to figure out what they do :P

I already have enough junk I can't throw out so I was glad to "use" the item and get it out of my inventory to get an achievement.

Think of "using" it as hanging it on your wall. Now if there was housing and you could ACTUALLY mount it on a wall or put that chattering skull on a shelf, then we would have a reason to have them do something.

I got two of them today. and when I clicked on them they disappeared from my inventory.

That's what should happen......they are then highlighted in your achievements as "found" (or maybe acquired)
