Random Encounters

So Bethesda is known for having easter eggs or other funny random encounters throughout its games, could this still be the case in ESO? I was running around harvesting materials, when I came upon a scene that made me dearly wish I had an animation for popping popcorn. Or provisioning it for that matter. Before me a pyromancer and a cryomancer were battling to the death in a fight of fire and ice, good versus evil, and so on. I sat and watched the pyromancers victorious conclusion, and after he stepped into a portal and vanished. I then had a small experience gain. Has anyone else stumbled on to something like this?

Yes, in Bangkorai and Rivenspire. The exact same scene. I don't know about the experience gain though. I didn't notice any.

There are also random encounters where someone is tied up and asking for help and when you go to help them, you get attacked by 2 or 3 brigands.

There are a few others I've seen along the way as well.

There's multiple ones like this, I've seen witches fight necromancers, cryo v pyro, a merchant and their guard being attacked, the tied up civilian with ambush in waiting, and you sometimes see a bandit trying to open a chest and they'll end up cursing you when you attack because you broke their lock pick. There's also a summoner who will ask for you help beating the thing he just summoned and then bails right after. probably a few more.

There are also spawns alongside roads that coincide with achievements in the exploration line, a merchant who you have to intimidate to get some free loot, a couple of people arguing over a fire pit that you have to light( which will give you something like 15% increased stamina for 30 mins or so) and a beggar who asks for gold( its a small amount like 69 gold or so), all of which award exp upon interacting and completing the "event".

Yeah, there are a number of these encounters that aren't related to any quests, but which give you xp when you participate in them. Some of them (lighting fires for people arguing over campfires, giving gold to beggars) are related to achievements.

I love running across these little encounters because it makes the world feel more real.

Random quests/encounters are a fairly good way to keep players interested after endgame. I really hope ZOS will develop new ones with every larger update.

In Grathwood there is a "Bosmer Tourist Guide" leading some other AD members through the forrest.

There are also two minor events (Peacemaker), where a Bosmer goes aggro on a Kajiit for eating a flower.
And a Altmer and Kajiit talk about the legality of Moonsugar (since it is used to make Skooma too).

Found some merchants being assaulted by bandits once. I jumped in, saved them, and they were really happy. Hurrah!
