I have seen the service alerts page and that's not quite what I'm looking for.

I saw that and that doesn't work for what I need. Too much change on the code of the page.
They also announce server status in their Twitter feed, but I don't think that's what you are looking for either.

There are even 3rd party websites that show status updates for non MMO related communities in realtime. It's a simple app really, just a ping and a display on a graph. Why doesn't Zenimax do this?
