I would have much rather seen the developers allow cosmetic modding for weapons and armor as in previous Elder Scrolls games, rather than opening up only the UI to the modding community.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

Now that would have been ground breaking but I think someone would find a way to exploit unless ZOS placed specific restrictions on the mods.

I dunno those spines look pretty dangerous. Seems like there would be a good chance either way.

I'm sorry this is where we'll have to draw a serious line. I'd rather everyone run around naked than what you suggest as a preferred alternative. :grinning:

Actually I used to play around with the modding for dungeon siege a long long long time ago (siege engine). You could actually create your own characters models for animations and textures/clothing.
    http://ds.heavengames.com/gameinfo/siege_engine.html
    ....games long gone now.

The clothing was actually nothing more than a flattened out suit as a jpg or png image that was wrapped by the games engine. So you could infact take a template image and mess with the colours/design. So no fear of hacks with an image file.

Was a lot of work depending on how deep you wanted to go.... but impressive results. I see no reason why zenimax couldn't do such a thing in theory. Doubt they ever would though.

Texturing these days is a lot more complicated.

Image texture of the right format and resolution? Specular map texture of the right format and resolution? Normal map texture of the right format and resolution?

Answer any of those three with a "nope" or "maybe" or "what?" and the results will look like garbage.

You can fake a specular map, but proper normal maps require high-res geometry baking.

I said yes, because I have an LA, MA and HA characters. Most of them get little armor damage during fights, except when tanking, then the repair costs mount. I have also been in dungeon fights where the game is telling my armor is broke and things worked out just fine.

So, a properly played character does not need armor to prevail. It just helps.

However, I would like to be able to play in Clothing, as in Street Clothes, rather than armor sometimes.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Wait, wait, are you saying you like to run around naked but you voted against because of the pervs? Seems like we need to start talking about banning pervs ingame. This is the only option.
