Blocking doesn't reduce dmg on dmg shields?

So i was dueling againts another player yesturday (which was a long fight that lasted more then 10 mins! lol) and I noticed that while I was blocking with my shield it reduced the damage on my health but on my Fragmented damage Shield the damage went as if I wasn't blocking.

It would take him many hits to lower my Hp while I was blocking but my damage shield received the full blow of the damage.

Am i imagining this or has someone else noticed this?

Damage shields always take full damage, regardless of your armour/resistance or blocking.

Good to know this. I wasn't sure if my assumption were correct.
    Thank You!

Its actually wasted to block while having a ward up. If youre not counting the cc immuntiy you get while blocking.

The real question should be, does dmg shield also absorb blocking stamina cost?

If 100% of the damage was taking by the shield, then no stamina is used while blocking.
If not, full stamina cost is used, but it does not reduce ANY of the damage.

Any overflow, as in any single hit that uses all the damage shield and then hits the player by passes all armour/resistance and blocking, which makes small dmg shields useless as they can cause you to be hit for more

That should be the logic, but we never know without testing it, sometimes there're flaws on connections between game mechanics logic.

It would be more logical if it act proportional, and it doesn't bypass armor/resistance and blocking. For example, if i cast 500 dmg shield, and i got hit by 700 dmg, the damage that ignore armor/resistance/block should only be the 500 dmg that's absorbed by dmg shield. The 200 overflowing dmg should still be subject to reduction from armor/restance/block.
